Summary
"The Major's my father," Stebbins spits out the words at the wheels of the half-track rumbling on in front of them with what little energy is left in his body. The red rim of his eyelids glimmer as he looks up at the Major. "I'm his bastard."
Ray stares at him. The actual meaning of his words take some time to penetrate the coldness in his chest that's slowing all his thoughts, but when they do, he looks at the Major to see his reaction. When he sees that there is none, he looks back at Stebbins, and the awful, raw edges of his expression, and then back to the Major, hoping for Stebbins' sake, that the man at least fucking reacts. However, when he looks back at the Major, he is no longer there. Instead, a cavernous hole decides to open up beneath the half track with a roar not too dissimilar to that of the carbines, swallowing the entire vehicle whole.
A moment later, a great watery crash rings out from miles below them.

“Well,” Sam, or rather Lucifer, said. “You know the rapture: one brother to lead the demons, one to lead the angels. I was supposed to take Sam and let you go. But I thought.... why not take you both?

“Okay. If you don't like your wish and you don't like mine, if you had a do-over, what would you ask for?” Ray asks, unimpressed, like this is a dare that he doesn't expect Pete to be able to complete.
Pete had spent a lot of time thinking about this after the Walk. It’s near impossible not to, really; you’re given the hardest choice you’ll ever make after the most horrific few days of your life, and you have forever to stew in the consequences of it. Pete has been stewing in it, indeed. “Do you really think you can wish for anything?” he asks. “It shouldn’t have been possible to get that kid an elephant so soon, but—”
“You want a magical wish, then? Like a fucking genie? It’s all hypothetical anyway. Go for it.”
Their feet move in tandem, like soldiers. The horrible ache in Pete’s stomach has gone away. This is the only time it ever goes away: here, in a dream, with Ray. “Well, I’d ask if I could just go on walking with you forever.”

Cas leans back into his space, sturdy. "I promise, I would not do anything that would put myself or our family in danger."
Michael throws a tantrum inside Dean someplace between his feet and the top of his head, He digs into the bars of Dean's ribs and contorts Dean's soul around His Grace. Cas sees none of this, or more likely he does, and ignores it for Dean's sake. He laughs at the absurdity of it all. "So what you said, about me still be being me. It's not true then?" Cas doesn't respond. Waves of grief wash over them, it's a wonder Dean can still breathe. He inhales. "Cause then you wouldn't kiss me. You wouldn't kiss me. I wouldn't want you to kiss me."
Cas does anyway. The darkness doesn't come.
There’s an archangel in Dean’s head and strangers from another universe in his house. His kid is sick, his mother is young and aloof, and to make matters worse, his best friend is keeping secrets. Again. Only this time, Dean finds out about Castiel's deal with the Empty, and he's got a pretty solid idea about what (or who) might trigger it. Knowing full well Cas must stay miserable to stay alive, Dean makes his move.
This is the way they can have each other. No matter how much it hurts.

Syril wraps her in skinny arms and pulls her against his chest. The heat of his body seeps through the multiple layers of clothing they both wear. And he doesn’t smell like smoke. He smells… clean, a mix of soap and laundry detergent. She’s close enough that she can hear the beat of his heart alongside the thudding of her own. It’s fast but not too fast, and the illusion of safety allows her own heart to fall into a calmer pace. The softness of his embrace slowly begins to overwrite the feeling of hands clutching her legs. Even the blaster fire seems quieter now that he’s holding her. Perhaps she won’t die, after all.
In the aftermath of the riot on Ferrix, Syril and Dedra create their best approximation of love.

“I suppose you could say I’m your guardian angel,” the man murmurs. His breath fogs pale between them. All of him is unnaturally warm, like Dean’s touching somebody with the sun sewn up beneath their skin. “I have known you, Dean Winchester, for a very long time.”
