They didn't matter. Weren’t relevant to the plan, as devised by the chain of manipulators that made up his predecessors. To him, their lives were insignificant, because there was nothing they could give, and no way they could stop him. So, they fell under the umbrella of ‘shinobi’, brainwashed soldiers of a broken system.
Despite everything he did, all the pain he caused and the lives he took, Naruto grins at him, as though meeting an old friend.
“Hey,” Naruto greets. “Welcome back.”
“Hey,” he returns with an unused voice, “what the fuck?”

“I had a crush on Kushina.” It’s true. Kushina laughed at him for months the first time he’d mentioned it even though they’d been dating for years. “Does that make me a bad shinobi?” Okay, so maybe weaponizing the kid’s admiration for him isn’t exactly the mature choice to make, but needs must and all that.
“No!” Kakashi cries with such an outrage that it seems to startle even him for a moment.

Shota sneers at the teenager across from him. His defense raises like the hairs on the back of his neck as he glares steadily, ready and waiting for whatever will come from this encounter. He narrows his gaze when the teen shifts; just the thought of sharing this rooftop with Japan's most notorious villain makes his skin prickle. “Deku.”
“Y-yes!” the teenager cries out in relief, taking a small step towards Shota, “I’m Deku! I’m so g-glad you—”
“Deku,” Shota growls darkly, flicking out his capture weapon hastily to snag the villain before he can make his move. He's quick to tug it taut, leaving no room for Deku to escape. “You’re under arrest.”
“I-I’m what?! W-wait!”

Summary
Los Angeles went through a very bad day. Zorro is dead and so is the taverness he loved, Mendoza and several other people. Yet, Diego is alive the following morning and so is everyone else, and the only man who remembers the events of the previous day starts realizing the day is repeating itself. As he tries to change the day's outcome, more death ensues until he stops and recognizes the loop he is trapped in for the opportunity it truly is. In the end, he'll need to find its true cause in order to fix things so that life might continue its course.
