Wordlessly, he leaned down to retrieve something from his right-side drawer. The smooth, shining case was small enough to fit in his one hand. He set it on the surface of his desk.
“Do you recognize this?”
“It’s a standard issue hygiene kit,” you answered. It would contain a toothbrush, shaving accoutrements, a plain comb. Simple yet essential and totally baffling in regard to its presence before you.
“Very good,” he purred.
You gave him as wry a look as you dared and snorted. “Shall we cut to the chase, sir?”
With spread, slender fingers he slid the kit toward you until it was within your grasp.
“Open it.”

“Do you like when I call Dogmeat a good boy, Deacon?” she whispers into him. “Do you want me to call you a good boy?”
Deacon opens his mouth to respond and—he’s mortified because he whimpers.

He gives Grian the very brief tour of his house before they end up sat on the couch. Grian curls his feet up carefully, and Wels realises for the first time that Grian has bird feet. He's careful with his talons, clearly knows their sharpness. He idly wonders what kind of bird Grian is. It'd be exactly the sort of conversation Grian wants to have, but Wels doesn't know how to start it, so he doesn't.
"Can I preen your wings?" Grian asks. His voice is far gentler than Wels has heard it before, like he's talking to a child, or a scared animal. Maybe he is.

Giving Evan’s shoulder a friendly yet firm pat, XVoid says, “You should probably run along home, as there might be people worrying about you. Don’t get yourself into too much trouble, alright?”
After the hero gently releases his grip and steps away, Evan stares in awe as XVoid zips away into the distance, jumping from portal to portal until he completely disappears within the buildings before him. Even after a full minute, Evan still finds himself staring out to where XVoid left, mind rushing with a thousand thoughts of what just happened to him.
"Wow," Evan whispers, still feeling his heart hammer against his chest from the adrenaline rush upon thinking of the hero. "What a cool guy..."
So, Evan decides that he wants to get to know the hero XVoid a little better using the most rational course of action that enters his mind at the moment: he’s going to become a vigilante.
In which two brothers are both living double-lives as a hero and vigilante, yet neither of them catch onto each other's identities. What shenanigans will ensue?
