Frank doesn’t know how to respond for a moment. The surprise of Gerard delivering an at least halfway formed plan in the same conversation as it’s introduced is enough that it renders him nearly speechless, and he says, “Wait – fucking. What?”

“You can,” Dabi firmly reminds him, pressing his thumb into Hawks’ mouth. Hawks’ tongue obligingly curls along the underside of it, and Dabi has to suppress a shiver. “Who knows you best, Keigo?”

There’s a little kid halfway inside of a torn-open, industrial-sized trash bag, barely lit beneath the only working lamp in the alleyway.
It has rubber band wrists, like someone takes care of it, or at least used to, until recently. It doesn’t make sense that it would be eating out of the trash in the middle of nowhere, blocks and blocks from the nearest residential street, if someone was still taking care of it.
Concern builds up in Dabi's throat like bile. Saliva pools under the sudden dryness of his tongue.
