"The doctors discharge Mac around 8:30, after a hellish 18 hours of hospitalization. He’s prescribed two EpiPens for the nut allergies, along with extra strength Benadryl and an inhaler for the leftover side effects of anaphylaxis. Dennis elects himself in charge of the EpiPens, which Mac is okay with in his exhausted state. There’s no way he can trust Mac to hold onto something so vital, so crucial to his safety. Mac never worries about himself; he’s always more concerned with Dennis. That’s not gonna fly here. No, Dennis will oversee the EpiPens, just like how Mac oversees Dennis’ eating schedule."

Draco shifts his head as he turns to look at Scorpius, his cheek touching the pillow. "Did you know that…" He pauses, his throat convulsing, and it sounds audible in the silence, besides Michael's steady, even breathing from the other bedroom.
Scorpius is staring back at him, in wait of something new to learn, a beautiful and intelligent child. He has Draco's mind. He has Draco's eyes and nose and mouth and hair. He is his. All his. All he has of Michael are his wild curls and the green of his eyes, and sometimes he looks into them and imagines that they aren't Michael's, but someone else's.
Draco leans his head closer, biting the quiver out of his lips before he breathes a laden and shuddering exhale, and he whispers, "You are my star in a big black sky."

He wished he could be the nice Catholic girl that George had always wanted.
Charles had always thought, a little part of him had always thought, that maybe George really shouldn’t be loving him. Maybe he would be right to go along with the Church and reject Charles as his soulmate. Maybe Charles was just...wrong for him.
“Charles,” Pierre finally said. “You alright?”
The sound of his voice made Charles burst into tears again.
“He’s constantly fighting himself because of me,” he sobbed. “Pierre. I watched you do that for your entire life. I watched you fight yourself because of Alex. I know how it feels. How much it hurts. I’d never wish it on anyone else. But now I have to watch him do it. The love of my life.”
