Summary
During book 5, when Hua Cheng and Xie Lian are talking about the people Xie Lian trust most, the god tells Hua Cheng that there is someone that he trust over all other people on earth. This makes Hua Cheng very jealous as he tries to discover who that mysterious man is.
Instead of being interrupted by Xuan Ji and Guzi, this time, Xie Lian does have the time tell him who that person is.
They get together early because of it.

Hua Cheng froze, his usually composed face turning pale. His voice dropped to a deadly fury as he asked,
“Who did that to you? Tell me, and I—”
“Hua Cheng,” Xie Lian interrupted softly, his grip tightening slightly around the hand still holding his. He took a shaky breath, his heart pounding with both fear and hope.
“I… I want to go to your city. Will you take me there?”His voice was small, his golden eyes lowered, cheeks faintly pink.
Hua Cheng didn’t answer at first.
He just stared, as if the world had stopped moving.
Then, finally, he smiled—slowly, softly, like he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.“Of course,” he said.
“It would be my greatest honor.”After his second banishment, Xie Lian was cursed by Bai Wuxiang to survive only by consuming blood.
Overwhelmed by guilt and self-loathing, he is discovered by Hua Cheng, a mysterious ghost king who offers him sanctuary in his city. Despite his shame, Xie Lian accepts the offer, hoping to find a place where he truly belongs.Could this be the home he’s been dreaming for all his life?

“You,” Shi Wudu leans forward, resting his chin on his folded hands. The entire world around him goes still, and He Xuan’s eyes fall gently closed. “You’re in love with Qingxuan, aren’t you?”

Xie Lian needs help deciding what to gift Hua Cheng. He Xuan is the obvious choice.
