The lock surrendered with a soft click and you pushed the door open slowly. Light from the hallway briefly spilled onto the floor as you slunk in and shut the door behind you. It took a moment for your eyes to adjust to the space that lay in total darkness aside from a sliver of streetlight coming in from behind the curtains.
What were you looking for? Whatever you could find. You were sly, a fox, a thief. You loved the rush of being somewhere that you weren’t supposed to be. And you had never been caught so perhaps that had gone to your head. Besides, you liked to think that you only took what people wouldn’t miss. Small things, inconsequential trophies, just something to remember that you had once been there.
No sooner had you taken a few tentative tiptoed steps inside, you heard a low voice. “There s’mthn I can help you with?”

You smell someone’s scent change in the room and your blurry eyes dart up and over to an alpha who looks like he’s about to come over to you and you snarl at him, jumping up onto your feet and then collapsing back into the chair from how dizzy it makes you.
The receptionist comes over and tuts at you, beta, it’s okay, just a beta- no. Omega on suppressants. You can smell the wafting peach she’s tried to cover over with her perfume.
“Don’t touch me.” You snap, pulling yourself up to your full height as best you can and leaning away from her on the chair.
A bead of sweat drops cool down your temple to your ear and you hate how it’s probably so obvious how wild your eyes are.
