Summary
“You sound very confident for someone who’s about to die,” said Ladybug. “What’s your plan, pretending to be me? That won’t help you.”
“Actually…” He pulled out a gun from a holster at his side. She hadn’t paid it any attention before, because she didn’t need to. “I was planning to shoot you.”
He fired. He was a decent shot, despite its futility. The bullet glanced off her chest, near the heart; she felt it like the flick of a finger.
See? Nothing to worry about, thought Adrien.
“Seriously?” she said, almost snarling. “You know who I am. You should know that won’t work on me.”
“Just testing, just testing,” he said, smirking confidently. His gun was still raised. “I hadn’t seen your anomaly in action yet. It’s remarkable.”
“It’s not my anomaly.”
“Oh, I know that. It’s Chat Noir’s, isn’t it? I’ve seen his power, from a distance. And you just… took it from him. You took all of him, didn’t you? His mind, his memories, his abilities. A perfect imitation.”

"What if there was a vampire Tyrannosaurus?" suggested Marinette.
"Nuh-uh. Nope. Vampires didn't exist back then."
Marinette's eyes went wide. "Really?"
"Duh. Vampires are made of bats and bats didn’t exist until like fifty million years ago. Tyrannosaurus died long before that."

Summary
Alya had had enough.
She wasn't surprised or anything. She was just tired. After a year and change of trying to get Marinette — her adorable, quirky, lovely, brilliant best friend — to confess to Adrien, and then briefly dealing with a breakup with her own boyfriend as he went and confessed to Adrien instead, and then watching Marinette fall into the same habits once again with a new target, she'd realised that there was no way that confession could ever happen. Anyone Marinette ever loved would stay blissfully unaware of her feelings forever, unless someone held an intervention.
And that someone was going to have to be her.

Summary
"What?" said Marinette.
"They're impressed by my camisole," said Kagami.
Her tone was enough to raise all kinds of dread. Marinette turned around again and saw Kagami standing there like a fashion model, the cocked hip and the diagonal leg, the arms dangling straight down the slide as if to hide that they were there. None of that was the problem, though, even though she looked terrifyingly good like that. The problem was that above the skirt, framed by the world's most expensive jacket, was a white cami with a tiny black bow. Not just any black bow, either. It looked the exact same as Marinette's cami, down to the laced lining around the neck and the tone of the colours.
"… What?" repeated Marinette.
---
Kagami starts to copy Marinette's wardrobe, piece by piece. Marinette tries to deal with the situation, and fails.

Summary
"My question is… you. The one with your hair in pigtails." Marinette straightened up, met his eyes. "If I asked the other one, would she say your door leads to salvation?"
She pondered the question a little while, wrinkling her nose as she did so. Eventually she replied, "She… would say yes."
"Good." He turned towards Kagami then and said, "I'll choose your path. Because if she is the one who speaks truthfully, she would have told me you would lie, and if she lies, she would have lied about what you would say. You are the truthspeaker, so I will follow your path."

Summary
Marinette was born legally blind, and her eyes only really let her tell the difference between light and shadow. She's fine with it, she's used to it, and people are generally good about accommodating her - especially Alya, who's a congenital amputee.
When Marinette accompanies Alya to fencing tryouts as a spectator (Alya hopes to impress Adrien), she ends up meeting Kagami. Kagami is also there to compete for the available spot, and she ends up taking special note of Marinette, for reasons Marinette doesn't understand. And another thing Marinette doesn't understand, is the whirlwind of feelings that Kagami quickly unleashes inside of her.

“You don’t understand,” said Ladybug. She reached up a finger. Slowly, she started to twirl a strand of Chloé’s hair around that finger, and Chloé could hardly breathe. “What I want to know, Chloé, is… what would you do… to my lips? To my body?”

Summary
"What's this about?" said Kagami. "Why did you call me out here, at..." She checked her clock. "Half past six on a work night?"
"Out here?" said Alya, raising an eyebrow. "We're just in Jardin des Tuileries. It wasn't far from home from any of us."
'Any of us.' Strange. "A park is still outside," Kagami countered.
"Yes." Alya sighed, glanced at a nearby shrubbery. Her fingers clutched the little box extra tight for the time her eyes were on the bush, and then she shook her head and looked back to Kagami. "Anyway, I would like to read you something."

Summary
After Monarch's defeat, Marinette needs to figure out what to do about the secrets he left her with: which ones to keep, which ones to tell, and when to tell them and whom to if she doesn't keep them. Kagami has to grapple with the reality of her existence as a thing created by Duusu, and with what to think about the outcome of what happened between Marinette and Gabriel. And Zoé has to deal with her lingering feelings towards Marinette, without stepping on anyone's toes - least of all Marinette's.
With a new butterfly holder approaching, the three of them need to figure out the limits of their trust; even more than that, though, they need to learn how to trust themselves. As the akumas get closer and closer to them, they need to navigate not just their relationships with other people, but also their faith in their own abilities - or everything will come crashing down around them.
But Marinette carries another secret, one that only she knows: when Gabriel made the wish, his life wasn't sufficient payment for Nathalie's. And the black wound on her foot is an always-growing reminder that even trust can likely not solve everything...

Summary
“Well, you see… it’s about the villains,” she said.
“Then it’s bad news,” said Elytria. She cackled a little, obviously in jest. “Unless you’ve figured out who they are already.”
“Well… um…”
Elytria’s eyes went wide. “No… don’t tell me, you’ve figured them out?”
“No,” said Marinette, shaking her head. Not really. It would definitely be bad news if her suspicions were correct, though, no matter what Elytria thought. “But… I think, I’m not sure, but I think I might have met Spurlet out of costume…”
Because things were getting complicated, and fast.
---
Marinette was given Xuppu as her kwami, and a mission to fight bullies and bullying. As she keeps fighting Spurlet, though, it becomes clear that something far deeper and far darker is afoot...

Tikki smiled, though it was a tense smile. "Marinette. Are you just making excuses again? Just so you won't have to risk getting a no?"

They were very soon in front of Collège Françoise Dupont, and Marinette didn’t even put the handbrake on before she threw herself out of the car and grabbed Alya by the wrist, and Alya seemed completely stunned until Marinette latched her into the backseat and slammed the door shut.
"… Marinette can drive?" said Alya weakly. She looked like she was sad more than confused.
"She claims she can't," said Kagami, as Marinette plopped down again into the driver's seat.
"Oh," said Alya.

Summary
Love had never come easy to her. Attraction did, interest did, care did; she could flit between fifty different things to care about in a single day. She was interested in more things than she could ever remember when asked 'What do you like to do?' She was attracted to about twenty people every single day, many recurring, because of their smile or their laugh or their eyes or their helping hands. That was everyday; that was nice.
Love, though, felt like something different. It felt more monumental, like a mountain you needed to free climb alone and if you fell, you would be dashed against the sharp rocks below. So she fell before she even started the ascent, because anything else would be too painful.
With Adrien, it felt painful long before she approached the mountain.
