Summary
Lanterns. Caged flames, tamed into obedience. Cursed to burn only where they’re told and no more than they’re allowed to. A tool.
Flins is a Lantern Fae, the only one of his kind. Known as the Azure Flame, he is feared by both fae and humans. Stripped of his name and memories by the Tsar, he exists as little more than a weapon: a hunting hound bound to its master, a flame condemned to burn only where commanded. For centuries, he has accepted this as his fate.
That is, until in the midst of a routine and merciless task, he encounters a Captain of the Lightkeepers: a faction that dares to resist the unyielding dominion of the fae over humanity. Mistaking Flins for a human who has lost his name to a cruel fae, the Captain offers him a place among the Lightkeepers. Giving the Tsar an idea for Flins’s next mission:
To infiltrate the Lightkeepers and destroy them from the inside.
But could a creature feared even by his own kind truly pass as human? Especially with that insufferably persistent Captain refusing to leave his side, hovering, prying, and dragging him ever closer to a life he was never meant to have.
Could something born in a cage ever learn how to be free?

A guide to courting for, ah, individuals specific to Nod-Krai and Snezhnaya? It’s practically a trove of information, Sir Varka! Really now, it’s only because you’re my most loyal, most esteemed, most valuable customer that I can afford naming such a low price.”
Or: Varka gets swindled into buying a Fae courting guide, written by a human for other humans. He's also forced to come to terms with his own feelings regarding a certain Lightkeeper (who might or might not be Fae). Shenanigans ensue as he attempts to follow this dubious yet somehow effective guide to the very end.

That was the last strike. This perverted lantern fae was so going to get it.
The lantern fae Flins was getting too brave yearning for her master, and Aedon took it upon herself to teach him a lesson.

Summary

Something must be off with Childe’s expression. Zhongli frowns across from him. “Did I make the wrong assumption?” He exhales. “I assumed you would like to stay in Liyue.”
There’s a hint in Zhongli’s voice that implies forever and…would he? Given the choice, would he want to stay here?
It’s a place that’s either disgustingly hot or uncomfortably wet, even for a Hydro Vision holder. There are still rules and etiquette that he doesn’t understand. The food is often hit or miss, and he still can’t read his way out of a children’s book. The people, once warm and welcome, now view him as a pariah, a criminal, and Childe knows he deserves it.
And yet, he doesn’t know. He can’t even answer what should be an easy question. No, he doesn’t want to stay here. He has every single reason to leave, abandon this city and country and leave it for dead.
Zhongli clears his throat, and Childe’s attention snaps back up. “Have you been to Mondstadt?”

This is the sequal fic to Grounding. It isn't necessary to have read the previous one, but it helps get them past the whole 'you used me in your plan and never told me' thing that kind of needed to be addressed. This is the one where it gets shippy.
