For the first time in a good while, Parrot and Theo finally get to spend time together as friends, which doesn't consist of constant fights in the middle of them. It's peaceful.
Until a while later, changes happen.Not visible at first, but then slowly start to escalate to worse scenarios, and no one can seem to fix them, no matter how hard they try. Not Parrot, not Theo, not anyone.

Summary
“Parrot.?” Wifies mumbled, stirring awake, somehow he sounded genuinely sleepy, which he did not expect by the way he acted so robotic. “Are you okay?” He immediately asked, somehow he definitely got used to the darkness and looked at the avian, who was pathetically curled up on his bed, sitting in a corner. If he lies, would Wifies know that? Probably, it's so obvious to see.
“I just had a nightmare, forget it,” Parrot mumbled as quietly as possible, but Wifies heard it anyway and sat up. “I can help you reduce that feeling of helplessness during this situation.” It didn't feel like a question, more like a command. He also knew he feels specifically helpless when he gets nightmares. Parrot probably told him about it so far ago that he was startled to hear that as well before he remembered he mentioned it like one time. He remembered that “nightmare”, how him and Wifies stood on that mountain, and Parrot's words.
“Thank you for being my friend.”
They stung more than they're supposed to.

“You’re really a horrible, heartless person aren’t you?”
It was obvious from how Ash phrased the question that it was rhetorical. Wifies stayed silent, waiting.
“I have to say, when I invited you both to the mafia, I was expecting Parrot to be the most useful asset between you two. You were just… baggage. An extra piece to the machine. But you’ve proved me wrong. Time, and time again, you’ve proved me wrong, Wifies. You are a horrible, selfish person. I mean– you’re barely even that! Barely a person.” Ash laughed loudly to himself. “Just look at everything you’ve done. Every actual human being you’ve killed with zero hesitation. And for what? Really, for what? I’m giving you permission to speak, Wifies.”
“For Parrot.”
“For power,” Ash corrected. “Because that’s what you need right? To protect him? You can’t have anything without power.”

this is basically a parrot and wifies swap au. i tried to stick it to canon as much as i could. and also before i make any of you guys mad, wifies will NOT be trapped in paragon. here the motivations of parrot being the director are different (not super SUPER different). he still cares for wifies tho (or does he..) :)

CLARIFICATION: this fic was not inspired, and i have no intentions to copy anyone.
chapters whenever i can drop them, im gonna try to make this long and savory. i have school tho and can get really busy but writing is a nice side gig for me. unfortunately im not as motivated as i was at the start but i still like this fic. slower but guaranteed updates
