Robby's eyebrows rose in surprise. "Did someone invite you to the cabin I rented?" Jack tilted his head and just looked at Robby, silent and expectant. After a long moment, Robby huffed a resigned laugh, like he wondered why he even bothered protesting. "Jack, would you like to come hiking with me?"

Manchmal fühlte es sich so an, als ginge es nicht mit Peter. Aber ohne ihn ging es noch viel weniger. Bob musste nur lernen, die Nähe, die früher zwischen ihnen existiert hatte, zuzulassen, ohne dabei jedes Mal ein gebrochenes Herz zu riskieren.

Eigentlich hat Bob sich auf einen ruhigen, wenn auch etwas einsamen Sommer eingestellt. Doch erstens kommt es anders und zweitens als man denkt, und so findet er sich kurz nach Beginn der Semesterferien mitten in der nordkalifornischen Wildnis als Sommercampbetreuer für eine Horde Pre-Teens wieder. Als wäre das nicht schon anstrengend genug, geht es im Camp scheinbar nicht mit rechten Dingen zu. Und dann sind da ja auch noch Bobs Gefühle für Peter, die sich immer schwerer unterdrücken lassen.Bookmarked by luzerich

Bob ist währenddessen absolut blind für den riesigen, winkenden Zaunpfahl vor seiner Nase. Er datet wild umher und fragt sich, warum er nie tiefere Gefühle aufbaut. Und er verbringt eh viel lieber einfach Zeit mit Peter. Ob er wohl drauf kommt, wenn die drei Fragezeichen im Laufe ihres Falls die Bekanntschaft einer queeren Freundesgruppe machen?

Summary
A particularly tragic case has left Robby low. Jack comes over to raise his spirits, and though Robby is one secretive son of a bitch when it comes to his own feelings, everything seems like it will be okay.
Later, the unthinkable happens. The attempt leaves Robby in the hospital and Jack scrambling to make sense of it all. He would've preferred Robby shoot him stone-cold dead.
As he starts the long road to recovery, Robby and Jack wrestle with the aftermath. Not only dealing with the devastation of his partner trying to take his own life, Jack struggles with his moral obligations as a doctor, a friend, and a partner. Robby wants to continue to be a pillar for his family to depend on, but has to come to terms with the fact that he cannot be an island forever. -

Ein eigenbrötlerischer Mann mit Verfolgungswahn beauftragt die drei Fragezeichen, ihm zu helfen. Es geht um eine mutmaßliche Untergrundorganisation, die scheinbar überall ihre Finger im Spiel hat und gelegentlich Menschen verschwinden lässt. Schnell wird den Dreien klar, dass der Fall viel größer und gefährlicher ist, als ursprünglich angenommen.
Dazu kommt, dass Bob noch einen Haufen Gefühle hat, die er eigentlich lieber abstellen möchte. Er hatte wirklich gehofft, dass er es auf dem College schaffen würde, sich Peter aus dem Kopf zu schlagen, aber da hat er wohl die Rechnung ohne die Wohnheimsleitung gemacht. Die dachte nämlich, es wäre sicherlich eine tolle Idee, ihn und Peter dem gleichen Zimmer zuzuteilen.

Brian's email included a forwarded job listing, seeking a temporary Chief of Emergency Medicine for PTMC, to start July 4th, Robby's last day before his sabbatical. Jack had been expecting Gloria to ask him to step up.
He'd heard nothing from her. And now this, as good as announcing the news: they were bringing in an external hire.

Jack had just stepped back onto the main floor when he clocked movement at the ambulance entrance, two guys hurrying in, the smaller one helping a guy with a sweatshirt covered in blood. But something was wrong, some unnamable instinct rising within Jack at the way they moved. It was too fluid, too controlled. Jack knew what the walking wounded looked like, had seen it for years, from war zones to bar fights. This wasn't the injured seeking help; this was men hunting.
Time slowed, Jack's heart rate spiking, the adrenaline dump casting everything in sharp relief—the full ED floor, patients plus shift change meaning twice the usual personnel were here.
Robby was here.
That thought got him moving, Jack approaching laterally. He got there right as the guns came out.
