Summary
Seb’s hair is a bright orange just like Aaron remembers it, neatly combed in a way Aaron never seen on an eight years old before. The freckles are new, or maybe just more pronounced now, scattered across his nose and cheeks. The square glasses perched on his face make him look older, like someone had taken the scrappy toddler Aaron knew and pressed him into the shape of a miniature academic.
And Aaron is about to cry because that's his son.
Aaron has no legal right to him and they share no DNA, but that's his son.

He's wearing a dark faded hoodie, and a pair of black jeans that look like they’ve seen better days but fit him with a precision that should be illegal, and he has headphones sitting on his neck. He looks like the polar opposite of Robert. He looks exactly like the type of guy he'll pick up at a pub for a quick shag, and never talk to again. He looks like the last person Robert will ever be in a serious relationship with.

Everything sort of stops suddenly. Aaron’s pretty sure Kerry walks in with Jacob and Eric, one of them laughs, then someone asks something about the specials on today. Aaron barely registers it. All he does is stare at the look on D’s face, the way he goes to take a sip of his pint and then stops halfway like he’s confused by the reactions around him.

Summary
If Aaron never goes to another wedding in his life, it will be too soon. With all the peripheral Dingles coming out of the woodwork, he’s at a wedding almost every other weekend at this stage.
When he was younger, there was a period of time where he had been so incredibly alone, no relationship with his mum, no way in hell he was going back to his dad, no friends or family to speak of. That version of him would look at him now in wonder and awe, and Aaron’s sure current him feels that way too, somewhere. Underneath the exhaustion and weariness and irritation at being asked by yet another distant relative if he’s up next, he’s definitely appreciative of how his life has turned around. Well, definitely is a bit strong.
He’ll probably feel better about the whole thing once he’s completely pissed at the afters.
