Summary
Derek has a new neighbor who won't stop looking.
Excerpt:
“You’re blind,” Derek said flatly, the anger draining from him so suddenly he felt almost woozy. His vision cleared, his claws sliding back into blunt fingernails.
“Thanks for the memo, genius,” the kid said acidly. “I can still fucking defend myself, so don’t take another damn step.”
“Fuck, I...I’m sorry,” Derek stuttered.
“What?!” The kid’s brow crinkled. “I mean — what?! You’re fucking sorry!?” His lips thinned into a harsh line. “What, is this some kinda Hallmark movie where you’re discovering the error of your ways because you don’t want to rob a blind person?! That’s fucking condescending, man. I’ll have you know that —”
“Just, wait.” Derek interrupted what was apparently the start of a convincing argument as to why he should rob the kid after all, feeling his head start to spin. “This is — it’s a misunderstanding. I’m — I’m not robbing you. You’re — you’re safe, okay? I’m taking three steps back. Just — just let me explain.”
“Explain why you came busting into my apartment? Yeah, go right ahead, man, I can’t wait to hear this epic tale.”

Honestly, this was a wonderful piece and thematically about overcoming past trauma— which is one of my favorite themes in fiction.
I will always love Stiles and Derek's dynamic since it's one I've known since I was a teenager, and this did it well. Kudos to them meeting both as adults rather than a, what, 20-23 year old man and a 17 year old? (Teenager me did not see the red flags in this and read their fics as their canon ages lol.)
But no, I really enjoyed how this fic is set up a different universe. One in which all of these characters are who they are still, with key elements of canon being thrown in there; however strewing them to meet up together at different points in their lives— even if they took a different path than what was on the show— and changing things up just enough to where it felt all very natural and refreshing to read. Like, oh, it would totally make sense for Scott to be in the medical field if he wasn't a wolf, for example.
A blind Stiles was also intriguing. Of course, he was very much still Stiles, but with a sort of... thoughtful and focused edge to him that you don't usually see on the show. Like him neatly taking off his shoes and placing his socks in them beside his bed so he can get to them the next day, and doing the same for Derek. And Derek was much softer himself— very hesitant, having been alone pretty much since his whole family died, and very hateful of himself.
Really, this was a wonderful piece to read. Thank you for this, dr_girlfriend, and for your wonderful writing. The smut scenes were absolutely diabolical as well. Shame on you. Go wash your hands with soap after typing that up. (Just kidding, I loved it.)

Summary
The briefing was simple: ‘Stand guard over the Michael Sword until the battle is ready to commence. Await further instructions.’
Castiel doesn’t mind working security duty; he was briefed shortly after the initial salvation of the Sword from the pit, and again before taking up his position. He knows what to do. However, it’s easy to forget that the green room isn’t real. Time moves differently there, the space ever-changing to make a prison of mountains, cathedrals, salt flats, orchards, and whatever Castiel was led to believe about Heaven’s greatest weapon—Dean Winchester is something entirely unexpected.

Wow! So I've been rewatching Supernatural and it has ignited my love for this show and fandom again.
This was utterly beautiful. Descriptive, creative, great use of metaphors... The characterization was absolutely on point, and you can tell the author, komodobits, has a real, deep understanding of everyone in this show. From Cas, Dean, Sam, Bobby, Balthazar, Naomi, Ellen, Jo, even to Anna.. Not to mention, I think this is the first fic I've read that actually depicts Castiel's true form as a biblically accurate angel. Enormous, with multiple eyes and rings, and just— my god!
Reading this simply *felt* ethereal. 10/10!!! Absolutely impressed, and I absolutely will be checking out more of this author's works.
Edit after looking at komodobits' profile: I have already read quite a few of their works ten years ago when I was utterly obsessed with Supernatural. This makes sense, lol!! I am very surprised I managed to skim past this one all those years ago. Looks like it's time for some re-reads haha.

I just finished playing the entire Mass Effect trilogy and this was just the fluff I needed after that ending. Ugh, so well written! The characterization was on point! My heart feels fuller.

Summary
Post S5 (AU); canon to the end of S4 & part of the way through S5. Gwen and Arthur have been married for several years, Merlin's magic has been revealed and Arthur has now reached a kind of cold peace with it. Then a delegation arrives from a kingdom based on magic, and suddenly Destiny is starkly and ruthlessly to the fore. The question is should - can - it be avoided?
WARNINGS: One scene may be interpreted as dub-con, infidelity, attempted suicide (magical/fantasy), season 5 spoilers. Angst. Please do not read if ambiguous consent or any kind of force used in sexual situations is a trigger or is distressing to you.

Bookmarker's Notes
So this story had me and lost me. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed with it. I gave up four chapters in.
So Arthur and Merlin perform this ancient sex bonding ritual because it's best for their destiny, right? Alright, cool. But Arthur is married to Gwen and Merlin is with Gwaine. Alright, not okay since their partners didn't know. Some angst later and after Gwen and Gwaine know, they do it again! And the catch? Arthur and Merlin ask their respective partners if they are okay with sharing them knowing they are both hurting from their infidelity. Like, wow, the audacity! I saw the infidelity comment in the summary, but the sharing part threw me off so hard lol. I figured there was going to be some in-depth healing and self reflection here (or at least them trying to be better people following that blunder) and that they'd be together, just them, by the end. Who knows, since I didn't finish it maybe that is how it ended. But I got to the potential sharing part and yep, no.
So yeah that's when I dropped it. Not to mention Merlin was particularly whiny in this. So many exclamation marks and crying. And Arthur made me genuinely angry because he was so hypocritical at times, and sometimes just plain aggressive and pushy.
As disappointed as I am with this, the writing was good. I think that's maybe why I am so disappointed with it, lol. There were a few grammatical errors and tons of "..."'s within the dialogue, and the incorrect spelling of the word focused— or in this story, "focussed"— really grated on my nerves. But! I realize not all works are perfect and everyone has their own style.
The good bits of this? I could honestly picture the scenes in my head as they were written out. Very descriptive and super easy to get invested in. I liked how it touched on men being with men during the time period as well (specifically royalty), the scandals of it; and it really went into the complexities of Arthur and Merlin's relationship as a whole. How Merlin views his friends, and cares about them deeply, too, and the complexities of even being jealous he's never recognized like they are.
Genuinely, I kept reading for a reason. The pacing was decent, too, which was nice. I think my favorite scene is when Merlin performs his magic for the tournament. Pretty badass, climactic, and sad cause I FELT for him there.
Like, McShame, please don't think I'm calling you an awful writer. I definitely wouldn't have been able to have strewn this together myself. And the sex scenes were HOT. The whole relationship drama was just not my cup of tea, but hey I suppose your name is McShame for a reason haha.
All in all? Keep writing, love. Honestly, again, great writing. I just think my biggest harp is I wish Arthur and Merlin were a bit more in character. Particularly Merlin. And how Merlin would never have considered hurting someone else like Gwen or Gwaine just so he could be with Arthur. He's way too selfless for that. And how their affair totally goes against Arthur's noble nature, which you addressed in the story; but it just felt cheap writing it off as it being because of their magical bond because it didn't make them feel like the characters we've come to love so much in the show.
Like I really expected the infidelity to be dealt with a bit better. In this story, it seems to almost nurture it— which goes against the core of their characters so much and doesn't really send out the best message. Being polyamorous is fine, for example; but asking your partner you cheated on if you can continue to fuck the person you cheated on them with whilst also staying in a relationship with them is just so messed up— especially if the cheated party is clearly hurting from it. Destiny or not, it just feels cheap and I love fantasy, obviously, but it should have been handled better.
I'm all for an angsty Merlin who feels sick and fed up with having a destiny and not feeling appreciated, or wanting to be selfish for once. I'm all for an Arthur who is an idiot in love who is bad at expressing that or realizing that for himself— but all of the elements I mentioned above just kind of went over the line a bit for me here. That's personally me, though. I'm sure others love this story, "Rheged." Everyone has their own personal opinions and tastes in fics, and that's okay.
Either way, you're still getting my kudos since I'm going through it right now, and that tournament scene just got me— plus I did enjoy reading a good bit of it despite what I didn't like about it. That's why I say you're a good writer! Keep it up.

Bookmarker's Notes
This story was just as good as their (rubber_soul02) last one I bookmarked before this.
Same review applies! It doesn't have the same theme, but gosh that doesn't mean it's not just as good. Draco is a lot more cool-headed in this story, and a lot more indifferent as he has grown from the boy he was. Hermione is refreshing and lively- quick to bite back and very much in character. Their repertoire is absolutely entertaining.
Considering this is the author's very first adventure fic? Phenomenal. And oh, by the way. Can I just say the metaphors in this are great? Like geez, rubber_soul02, your stories always deliver in that sense.
Overall, really, really, really enjoyed this. Never thought I'd see the day where Draco, Hermione, and Harry teamed up haha. And, just like in their last fic, I adored seeing the golden trio (Ron, Harry and Hermoine) together again. Chef's kiss.
