Hasta parece un actor desenvolviéndose en el escenario, emociones tan vívidas que se sienten de plástico—. Os hago la comida, limpio todo el desorden que dejáis... ¿Y es esa la apreciación que recibo?
—Eso sería una desgracia. ¿Realmente dejarías a Patilludo sin mitad de su familia?
Durante mucho tiempo, familia fue una palabra que Kaveh se sentía incapaz de decir por lo dolorosa que era. Ahora, sin embargo, sale de los labios de Alhaitham con una facilidad demoledora. Kaveh, luego de unos momentos de silencio, sonríe y dice:

“A little egotistical, don’t you think?” Viktor asks.
Jayce blinks, “what?”
“To like sunflowers,” he clarifies. They stand tall, big with full petals, facing various directions. Some of the leaves burst out from the top of the vase, cradling the plump, golden petals. Jayce quirks his head with a puzzled expression, and Viktor breaks himself out of his thoughts to blink slowly at him.
“Nevermind,” he says simply, turning away to continue to the kitchen. The kettle whistles. “Besides,” Viktor continues. He tells himself to stop, to shut up, and to kick Jayce out of his apartment. “The red ones grow in the Undercity. My father and I would pick them for my mother. They were the color of her eyes.”
He reaches to unplug the kettle from the outlet. He was always weak. He feels the Arcane dig it’s fingers into the base of his head.
“They’re the color of your eyes too.”
