They seem amazed at Peter’s resiliency, how he can come back, how he still takes the horrors they give him. Anyone without Peter’s abilities would be catatonic by now. Quite possibly dead.
Frank is increasingly certain that was the order given: fuck The Punisher’s pretty boy to death, and make him watch. In their frenzy they don’t question how Peter is still alive. They just return for seconds and thirds and fourths.

For a moment, Peter is frozen in shock at the words coming out of Frank's mouth, and then he laughs, like it's a joke. The gentle way his hand runs over Peter's back, pressing slightly at the dips of his muscles to find the tight spots, tells him otherwise. Frank is concerned.
