And then there was a sort of frenzy of collaborative porn-writing in DMs on Twitter, featuring modern AUs, and that led in a roundabout way to this.
Modern AU: Nie Huaisang is at University, studying business (as is his duty) rather than Fine Arts (his passion).
He is also, however, moonlighting as a photographic artist anonymously posting a series of high-end erotic self portraits, under the nom de guerre of FanBoy, in which his face is never visible.
He's posting porn online, basically. But it's none of your trashy amateur shit - it's GORGEOUS.
Nie Mingjue has a certain "type" (the details of which he chooses very carefully not to reflect upon) and as such he very swiftly becomes the number one fan of this mysterious photographer/model.
Identity porn and actual porn and angst and more porn ensue.

“And Hunk lent me this jacket, which is nice, and comfy.” Keith says, picking idly at the cardigan. It did look soft and cozy. “But I feel like I’m walking around with a blanket.”
“It is a bit big.” Shiro agrees, this time not hiding his amused smile. “Or maybe you’re just used to cropped jackets?”
Keith pouts and says nothing but he slaps Shiro’s shoulder with the length of sleeve hanging off his hand.
It’s cute. Shiro dies a little.
Keith out of leather and punk is just as bad, if not actually worse, for Shiro’s poor heart.

Shiro pales. “Keith!” he splutters out before he can help it. Because he was pretty sure this was Keith The Brother. Because Shiro has only heard that name in tandem with Romelle’s for the past two weeks and- “Uh, hi- I, uhhh-”
Shiro learns that Keith’s glare can sharpen even more. “You know my name?” Keith grits out, stepping forward, making Shiro step back. Shiro’s back hits the lockers and he helplessly stares as Keith crosses his arms across his chest and raises one perfect eyebrow. Shiro doesn’t mean to eye him up and down and back up again, but he does anyway, despite himself.
‘Sven, you traitor.’ Shiro thinks. ‘You could’ve warned me the brother was hot.’
In which Keith and Romelle are siblings, Shiro and Sven are cousins, and everything changes when Sven sees Romelle and falls head-over-heels in love.
