Summary
Vash couldn't remember ever seeing a wolf in real life. In pictures, books from times long past, but never in real life…but here one was. Struggling in the sand as it fought to stand up, its frontmost leg leaving a bloody trail before it finally collapsed to the ground. It was a gorgeous creature, even in the waning sun, all glossy black fur and sharp features.
And Vash couldn't help himself.
His heart ached for the creature.

Summary
Five times they found and then lost each other, and the one time they found each other, and there was hope.
(Or: Vash and Wolfwood always found each other, no matter what universe. It was only a matter of who recognized who first. Sometimes, only one of them remembered the other. Other times, they could both recall their past lives.
They also had a bad habit of dying in each other's arms, except the one time they didn't.)

“Seven,” Kurapika spoke for the first time.
Pairo’s loud, hacking coughs rattled his ear, accompanied by the rhythmic thumping as he slapped his own chest, telling him that his brother had been in the middle of taking a sip of his drink when he shared that detail. There was another dull banging sound like Pairo was banging his forehead into his own desk. “These six must be very excellent.”
For the first time in his call, Kurapika smiled. He directed his steps toward the door. He had a plane to catch.
“They are,” Kurapika assured him.

“Don’t take that tone with me!”“Yeah?” Leorio challenges. “Make me.”
It’s an extremely childish response and Leorio really should be above it. But as soon as he says it, a strange look comes over Kurapika’s face. It’s the look before a person jumps into a cold lake on a winter’s day. Or the look before someone throws the first punch. It’s the look of setting aside all reservations. Of abandoning all better judgment. Of taking an enormous risk.
Kurapika reaches up and grabs Leorio’s shirt tight in his fists. For a moment, Leorio worries Kurapika is going to hit him, but all at once Kurapika yanks him down and kisses him.

Leorio works in the medical department for said organization, and is eight year old Gon's part-time legal guardian. Summary
When Leorio moves into a new house, the last thing he was expecting was to find a demon chained up in the basement. Being the kindhearted and apparently stupid man he is, he frees the demon, Kurapika, and nurses him back to health. Now Kurapika won't leave his house and Leorio's pretty sure Kurapika's hunting people for their eyes. Once the misunderstanding is cleared up, and his living room is destroyed in the process, he has to deal with the demon's friends coming and going.
How did his house become a haven for demons? And how the hell did he wind up adopting three dragon assassin kids?

It was terrifying, but also jaw-dropping in a way that thunderstorms at the beach were, and Leorio would have run without a second thought.

The next morning, Leorio had come into the living room to see Kurapika wearing nothing but a pair of tight fitting boxers and one of Leorio’s nice button-up shirts. Kurapika turned around in his chair, a mug of tea cradled in both his hands, and said mildly, “Oh, good morning, Leorio. I hope you don't mind me stealing your shirt. Since there's no strenuous activity allowed, I figured I'd take it easy for the day."
Oh, that smug son of a... Leorio narrowed his eyes. Two can play at this game, motherfucker
