Colt had been a twin once.
That was what he always told people. He supposed, technically, he still was one, but some days it did not feel like it. He should probably find a different way to say it, because every time he did, he got the questions he never wanted to answer.
Even when they came from the right place, Colt hated all of them. His hands gripped the steering wheel, itching to take a left onto that narrow, dirt road he knew would take him to that discreet NASA lab that he was not supposed to know about. Years finally passed after coming back to Erid, Grace is healthy and happy, no more being sick.
And Rocky is back with his mate Adrian, everything’s nice and dandy! Well… Kind of, Rocky’s perpetually stressed with everything (being the acting leader of the largest city, being part of a group of elder eridians who are also leaders of other cities, making sure Grace’s bio-dome is working properly, and a shit ton more that Rocky can’t even count on all his claws. It’s so goddamn stressful).
Then of course it comes to a head when the news about Earth and their now fixed Sun and the threat of Grace going home made it worse (because he hasn’t had the chance to admit his feelings yet)… Rocky’s never been more stressed than ever.
Then of course… Rocky turns into a human. Welp.
Tl;dr: #LetRockyRest and Grace trying to lock the fuck in after realizing his best friend is self destructing on his own (+comparing Rocky to Eva Stratt 'cus Grace got the hots for the both of them)

In linguistics, a false friend is a word in a different language that sounds similar to a word in your own, but differs significantly in meaning. No word in any Eridian language could possibly be mistaken for English. But Erid absolutely has false friends.
In his right mind, Grace would easily identify the mistaken assumptions inhibiting his integration on Erid. They are:
1: A molecular biologist and a sapient rock can cobble together translation software that reflects the etymological nuance of an entire alien language.
2: Eridians are enough like humans to have an area 51 and look forward to using it.Unfortunately, Grace hasn’t been in his right mind in years.
Or: a ‘Return to Erid’ story where Grace struggles to touch down alone.
