Summary
Turns out, Thatch getting a devil fruit with Marco in the same room as him turned out to be a bad combination that resulted in Marco halfway across the world on an island he’d never even heard of helping people he had no intentions of helping.
Really- a freshly pillaged village should be the least of his worry’s. He should've just got through the time it took for his family to pick him up minding his own business.
But- when a malnourished ginger haired little girl that was treated like the village pariah somehow wormed her way into his heart without his permission, he realized he couldn’t ‘mind his own business’ anymore. Couldn’t ignore the problems making themselves known on the island.
And when he found out just who made the girl the way she was? well- he never claimed to be a saint, and he was certain it was about time the ‘Arlong Pirates’ learned why messing with family of the Whitebeard’s was the worst mistake they could’ve made.

A fic where Marco ends up adopting Nami freshly after Arlong takes over the island- ‘why?’ you ask? Simple really, an idea popped into my brain and refused to let go, so now i must write it. Here ya go friends ;D

"What—" Law officially lost the capability to function as he watched Luffy's heart beating erratically under his nose.
"Take it back." Luffy laughed nervously, almost uncomfortably as he kept shoving the heart at Law. "Robin said you give people you love your heart. So here."
"Robin—she—" Law stuttered dumbfounded, a conversation he eavesdropped on coming to mind as realization finally dawned.
"For the love of god Luffy, she didn't mean it literally!"

For a horrible moment, Marco thinks to himself that if Ace was dumb enough to challenge Pops, who is to say he hasn’t tried attacking one of the other yonkos? Shanks is a reasonable guy, probably the most reasonable of all the yonkos, but if Ace did something stupid like attack one of Red hair’s friends... Marco doesn't even want to think about the all-out war they might have on their hands.

Summary
Luffy is killed during the Gray Terminal incident. In response, Nika revives him and soon enough Zunesha is on their way to meet with their old friend, picking up both him and his two big brothers. Hence, unintentional kidnapping.
And they then dump three very traumatized and confused children on the Mink Tribe, leaving Duke Inuarashi and Master Nekomamushi to come together again and raise them. Meanwhile, the bandits and those of Dawn mourn the three boys, Garp resigns from the marines, Dragon is doubling his efforts, and Shanks is on a warpath.

Or: being the Pirate King’s son means a lot of people unknowingly tell Ace he never should have been born. It also means several items formerly belonging to Gold Roger make their way into his possession, whether he wants them to or not.
For instance, a coat. A sword. A rather opinionated ship.
