Like tonight, a year ago, Ed was visited by his dead mother.
The dream has always been the accident. Of Edward, strapped to a seatbelt in the passenger seat of their vehicle, and, over and over, being unable to dredge himself out. Neither Trisha nor Al responded to his thrashing, screaming, pleading. The truck always hit.
A year ago, it was different.
Edward stood on the outside, in the grass on the corner of the intersection. The sky was bright blue, clouds corralled around the circle of deadly space made up by two crossing roads. He watched his mother inch into the clearing, watched his own face trapped in the cherubic naivety of childhood, enraptured by the front window. Watched him spot the barreling truck, and, for the first time, witnessed the accident from the exterior.

Alphonse surveyed the grass. The yellow areas had been cut down from Granny's new sickle just like Ed told him, and it didn’t take long for him to spot his helmet amid the green, nestled in a bed of unperturbed weeds. Looking at it, Al found it weird to see the armor again, being used even with the lack of soul within it.
His brother trekked next to him. Ed, lifting his sickle, pointed the tool's brittle end at the bassinet. “Yeah. Den brought it here. Didn’t think much of it, but...a mother found a new home, apparently."

Ed decides to take him up on his offer, but things aren't so simple. With Roy and Riza on the run and Al nowhere to be found, Ed has his work cut out for him. All in a day's work for a very dead Fullmetal Alchemist. Rating just to be safe.

Edward Elric, the youngest state alchemist in Amestrian history, has been a part of Mustang's team for a week now. However, he hasn't made any attempts to get to know the various members of the team.
After a suggestion from Fuery and an order from Hawkeye, Havoc, Fuery, Breda, Falman, Ed, and Al are going to be spending the next two hours together in a Natural History Museum.
It is, without a doubt, the most boring thing Havoc can think of doing on a Friday night. But at least it will be a relatively stress-free evening.

And then there's the Ed that only Al ever sees, the one who complains that lights are too loud, doesn't understand people, and flaps his hands when he figures out an alchemical breakthrough.
Al knows that if the rest of the world saw the other side of Ed, they would think they could separate the two sides of Ed, pull away all the parts they didn't understand. But Al knows that both sides are just... Ed. So Al will always be the safe spot where Ed can be all of himself.

On a supposedly simple mission to collar a rogue State Alchemist conducting human experiment, it's absurd that Ed would fall afoul of something so simple as a landmine.
C’mon, Bastard,” Ed scoffs. “Gonna need to wash my hands after touching this scumbag.”
Fullingham opens his mouth, no doubt to spew filth, and Roy has choke down inappropriate laughter when Ed only shakes the man like a recalcitrant cat and strides forward to shove the man into Roy’s hold.
“Major Ira Fullingham,” Roy begins again, thumb and forefinger readied. “You’re under arrest for the conducting of illegal alchemical experiments on live humans, gross military misconduct and resisting arrest. You are to be remanded to Central City to await trial and punishment for your crimes.”
It’s an easy move to duck the spray of spit.
