Summary
Evan "Buck" Buckley thought he had left his past behind when he traded his Navy fatigues for turnouts. For years, he’s buried the memories—of war zones, of a lost lover, of the life he swore he'd never return to. But with a series of arson attacks across LA, his past comes back to haunt him.
NCIS are called to investigate and Buck’s carefully constructed web of secrets begins to crack when Sam Hanna arrives at Station 118—because Buck knows him. Sam was once his teammate, his mentor, his brother.
When a grainy surveillance video reveals a face Buck thought he’d never see again, the ground shifts beneath his feet. Zack, the man he mourned, the man he watched die, is alive.
Working alongside NCIS and his old SEAL Team, Buck finds himself walking a dangerous tightrope. The deeper he gets, the more he risks everything—his job, his family, his friendships and the life he’s built with Eddie and Christopher.
But secrets can’t stay buried forever.

Summary
Who did he think he was anyway, strolling into the 118 with his hair and his body and his eyes, with a smirk that bled confidence. Who did he think he was to appear and insert himself into their family like he belonged when Buck himself had grafted, scraped and clawed his way to belonging.
He could feel Bobby’s eyes on him, he could feel Hen wanting to reach out, could feel Chimney’s confusion but they didn’t understand. This, the firehouse, this team, this family was his. It was all Buck had. They didn’t understand how threatened he felt, his hackles raised and chest tense everytime Bobby clapped Eddie on the shoulder. They didn’t know about the nausea that clawed at him every time Chimney poked fun at Buck, with Eddie. They couldn’t fathom the way his head spun every time Hen complimented Eddie on his skills as a medic, sounding genuinely impressed.
Or
Buck has some serious undiagnosed mental health issues, pushes them aside and becomes everyone's sounding board, soaks up their problems and ignores his own, until he can't anymore.
Or
Buck slowly realises that maybe he's not a burden, that he doesn't need to make his problems smaller to make room for others.

Summary
Simon remembers kissing in the club, he remembers hands on his neck and chest and back, he remembers a hand on his hand as they left early. Remembers fingers and a mouth on him, remembers flipping them over. He remembers how hard he had gripped Simon when he did so.
But he still doesn’t remember a face, or a name or a voice. He still doesn’t remember eyes or a nose or even his mouth. He doesn’t remember if he’s tall or short or white or a POC. Simon remembers how he felt, remembers the touch of his skin but not the skin itself.
or
The one where they are Just FriendsTM in college. Simon has no idea what he is doing. Bram is far too well adjusted. Notes are left behind after one night stands, too much tequila is drank and everything seems to fall into place.

Summary
“Oh… wow. You really know how to make this,” Eddie murmured between mouthfuls, eyes closed, as he continuously pointed at his plate. “You want another baby?”
Buck and Eddie never meant to have a child together. Really.
It wasn’t planned and it wasn’t even a choice, more an act of survival than desire. But after one heat and an emergency that left them with only one option, they’re now raising a little girl as best friends who never, ever talk about what happened.
That is, until Eddie makes one casual joke over lunch, and suddenly Buck isn’t so sure the past is as buried as he thought it was.

Summary
“You don’t have to,” Buck says quickly. “You could just leave it. Don’t look.”
Eddie glances up at him, and they both know without saying it that he isn’t going to let this go.
There’s no way he can look away now, not after seeing the way Buck reacted.
“Or maybe just not now,” Buck says softly, stepping closer, his hand settling gently over the screen like he can shield Eddie from what’s on it. “Maybe leave it for now. You’re not… Eddie, you’re not doing well right now. I’ve been so worried about you and this—” his voice catches, “—you… Eddie, please don’t. Just leave it.”
It stings to hear the worry out loud, even if he knew it was there.
He wants to do what Buck says, he wants to trust his friend and give him what he’s asking.
Buck never asks for anything.
Eddie moves Buck’s hand aside gently, giving it a brief squeeze. “Can’t do that, Buck.”
Or; After Christopher leaves for El Paso, Buck decides that he and Eddie should trace their family trees to keep Eddie’s mind occupied elsewhere. The results lead Eddie to face a family secret.

Summary
The thing was, the 118 was full of gossips.
Eddie had been at the station less than a week before Hen and Chim wrangled details about his “hot young thing” from him (“Buck is only 4 years younger than me, he is not a ‘hot young thing’!” Eddie complained.)
And Bobby was open about his worries for his son’s lack of direction and the secrets he appears to be keeping (“I just wish I could help Evan find the thing that gives him purpose,” Bobby lamented.)
It just made it all the more ridiculous (and horrifying) when Eddie realizes he’s been dating his Captain’s son this whole time (“Defiling his baby,” Chimney cackled, because he clearly wanted Eddie murdered.)
--
Or, the AU where miscommunication abounds as Eddie seeks advice about his new relationship, Bobby despairs over his adopted son's career prospects and his refusal to talk about it, and Evan Buckley-Nash juggles training at the fire academy, building a family with his new boyfriend, and trying to work out how to tell his overprotective dad that he's already chosen the life he wants, actually.
It takes a goddamn tsunami, of all things, to get the story straight.Series
