That time, in the middle of the night, when everyone is probably the most drunk they are going to be, when the music has turned into a humming bassline, when all of the chip bowls are half empty and the pizza boxes are filled with stale crusts, was surreal. Like those few days between Christmas and New Years. An empty void where time stood still.

It wasn’t until they’d gotten back to their desks that Lois had burst into a fit of snickering and said “oh, I would pay money to see how you’re going to handle Bruce Wayne for two weeks,” and Clark had realized how majorly screwed he was.
