Summary
Loki has been fighting a battle with himself for centuries. But when he returns from the dead gaunt and hollow-eyed, raving about conquering Midgard, Thor realises that another, more sinister force has taken control of his brother.
This fic is set during the scene on the mountaintop in The Avengers, diverging from canon partway through. It’s a fix-it in that Thor actually listens to Loki and shows him a bit of kindness (eventually).
