Rain tapped softly against the wide glass windows of their luxury hotel suite in Bali.
What should have been a bright Valentine’s evening by the beach had turned into a storm-wrapped night.The ocean outside was nearly invisible now—only occasional flashes of lightning revealed silver waves crashing under dark skies. Palm trees bent under wind. Rain poured endlessly, drumming against balconies and rooftops like a thousand hurried footsteps.
Inside, warm golden lamps softened the room.
Their suite was absurdly expensive—marble floors, cream-colored walls, silk curtains, a king-sized bed untouched except for Taeui’s scattered clothes, and the faint smell of rain mixing with expensive soap and sea salt.And boredom.

Taeui sat cross-legged on the carpet, glaring at the weather outside.

The last few weeks had been a battle of endurance, a constant struggle against Ilay’s suffocating presence. No matter where he went, Ilay’s eyes always found him, watching with that unyielding, possessive gaze that left him feeling raw, vulnerable, exposed. He knew he should have broken free of this a long time ago, but Ilay’s hold on him wasn’t something he could easily escape.
As he neared the exit, he felt a spark of hope ignite in his chest. Just a few more steps, and he’d be free—free of the twisted bond that had chained him to Ilay, free of the relentless pursuit that seemed to follow him wherever he went.
