She blinked at him, completely at a loss. “Uh. Well, yes? In a way, yes.”
“I want them to know I hate them. I don’t forgive them. That the light of friendship won’t touch us for a thousand years. I want... I want him to know that he’s the fucking worst.”Penny owns a flower shop in Baltimore. When Will wakes up again, it’s because of movement on the small bed. The body that somehow has settled behind him. For a second, Will tenses completely, realizing he’s still shirtless, but bandaged and clean, and recognizing the presence of an alpha. He prepares to kick out with all his remaining strength, but the moment the alpha’s scent reaches his nose, against his will, he relaxes.
Hannibal is there, lying against him, a strong arm around his stomach, his nose buried in Will’s neck, brushing against the small curls at the nape.

Hannibal inhales sharp enough to unwittingly get another whiff of the man’s aftershave. He holds back a gag.
Hannibal is a tortured artist who can’t quite get his tableaus the way he wants them. Will offers some criticism and zero help.
Or, Hannibal’s stint as Il Mostro lasts longer than intended and Will is in Italy to witness Il Mostro’s displays in person.

but I kind of want it to turn out that he’s playing Hannibal just as hard as Hannibal’s playing him. I’d like to see that as a fic, that turnaround where it’s Will doing the string pulling and Hannibal only realizes it at that very last second… and can’t help but respect how clever it is.

Will always believed death was beautiful.
Peaceful, being taken by the hand, lead away from pain and suffering, closing your eyes and feeling nothing more, consumed by darkness.
Will always preferred darkness. The light hurt his eyes, blinded him. Light was the first thing seen by all those living. Birth was ugly, birth hurt, it was loud and dirty. You came kicking and screaming, covered in blood.
In some cases, the latter was the only true similarity, and perhaps that was beauty in itself.
Will is dying. Not how he’d like to.
