Whatever it was Adam expected out of life, it wasn’t this. It wasn’t a series of dead end part time jobs, a shitty apartment over a church, endless night classes at a local university, a life one town over from the loveless trailer park he grew up in. He definitely did not expect the body outside his apartment and the spiderweb of horrors involving mutilated corpses, strange unmarked boxes, and ominous phone calls. And then there’s Ronan Lynch, local farmer and personal nuisance, a sudden support against the fresh hell that has become Adam’s life. Stuck in this new landscape fraught with religious grotesquery in a pattern only he seems to see, Adam must find the killer before he too becomes the sick part of a sick thing.

How the snot-nosed, small dick, rich brat, second son of the Moriyama family who also just so happened to own the largest EXY gear and merchandiser company in the world “RAVEN” - had landed smart mouthed, quick witted, stupidly blue eyed Wesninski, was beyond him. Well, unless Wesninski was a gold digger, but Andrew doubted it.

Summary
It’s the blood splatter, really, that draws Andrew’s eye first. Would it really arc up like that, as if from a garden hose blocked by a careless thumb? Would it drench the sheets red or flow in neat streams down the front of the mattress?
It seems almost impossible how easily convenient death is. How Judith’s sword slices through Holofernes’ neck, his face an expression Andrew wouldn’t recognize even if he cared to. It’s just shadow, hair, and a wrinkled forehead, surprisingly free of blood. Being upside down neither helps or hinders his impression.
Judith, of course, looms overhead, one hand braced on Holofernes head, the other clenched around the sword caught in the act of murder. This expression, too, is indiscernible, yet Andrew has the strange instinct to rub his thumb over her face, as if that will clear it up. A windshield wiper arcing endlessly over oil stains.
Or, the one where Andrew, an art undergrad who unknowingly has prosopagnosia, contracts Neil, a math undergrad with an attitude problem, as a model for his portrait requirement in order to graduate.

There’s a new god in the pantheon; Andrew remembers hearing about the scandal a while back, the newest Demeter having a child with the current Zeus and then going on the run, child in tow. They call him Persephone, the god of springtime and new life, the antithesis of Andrew's realm. It would be ludicrous of Persephone to ever interact with Andrew at all.
If only someone told Persephone that.

“Hades, right?” Persephone asks.
“Andrew,” Andrew responds, and Persephone hums.
“Nice to meet you, Andrew. I’m Neil,” Neil responds. Andrew cuts a look sideways to see Neil watching him, something assessing in his gaze. Andrew nods in response. “I have to say, you’re not nearly as scary as everyone says you are,” Neil continues.
“You barely know me. Give it time,” Andrew says, because the rumors don’t exaggerate. People fear him for good reason.
“I’d like to, I think,” Neil says. Andrew quirks an eyebrow at him. “Know you,” Neil clarifies. Before Andrew can think of a response, Neil’s head turns. “I have to go. Zeus called for me, and he’ll notice if I’m missing. Thanks for the cigarette.”
