I'm currently bookmarking this while I read 37 chapters exactly.
And oh my god I can't even describe the beauty of the pain this fic is making me feel. It's perfect in every way. Well, except for the fact that it has a bad ending that'll ruin me.
The relationship is so precious. It's something so fragile, intimate, intense and terribly frightening all at the same time. I am equally frustrated and understanding towards Mikey, and so so so sorry for the future heartbreak Pete will endure.
I don't want them to end, yet I knew what I was in for. I just wish they could have a happy ending so bad. They both seem to have lived through so much shit, they'd deserve it. But that's not how tragedy works, I guess.(I also noticed that it seems very thoroughly researched on the historical part, although I can't account for the accuracy being no specialist in the subject.)

I might have to admit, this one is pretty far high up my fav fics (my standard are a bit high so this top is in fact very very restrained lmao)
- fake dating and singer au (i like that apparently)
- so basically its a slow burn but reverse. emotionnal slow burn before any physical touch and that's my fav ahhh
- also hurt/comfort, misundertanding but at the same time mutual trust (i was frustrated many times and wanted to punch Dazai in the face more than once (way more than once, he can be fucking stupid hmhm))
- good characterisation, its usually where i am disappointed as they tend to stray away from their original character and reactions, but i think it was quite true to how they would usually act
- i love when music is included in fics, so yeah definitely enjoyed that, expecially their descriptions (i was so glad i could listen to some afterwards, and it was accurately described tbh)
_ the idea of including some of the original plot through the movie Dazai acts in was pretty nice, i liked that reference -

- Amazing characterisation : emotionally unavailable and disorganised attachement style Kae and bpd, heavily traumatized Ajax
Childe characterisation in particular is remarkable, he is soooo interesting. Pretty good bpd representation tbh.
Kae is also very well fleshed out. At first glance he is witty, confident, almost in an arrogant way, but the more it goes on, the more we see how hesitant, warry and even (if I dare say it) caring he is.
I relate to them both, in very different ways (neither good nor healthy lmao), and that makes the two pov interesting to read.
- Slow burn, emphasis on *slow*
I really enjoy how the whole fic doesn't rush through things. It is very detailled, but it needs to be. Progress are hard to make, it's like going a step ahead them making three steps backwards, but that's actually normal and very accurate. And it's good reading something in which there is a proper time frame to build a relationship, where they can learn to trust each other slowly.
- Writing style is quite simple, nothing too convoluted, but very feelings and thoughts oriented, which makes me like it. -

Kaeya was always good at playing cards, but he had never been dealt a hand quite like this before. It was devoid of aces, kings, jacks, or queens, and a two of hearts had stolen his chances of a full set of spades. The best part of it all, sliding the cards across the bar top to reveal their faces, was that it was a crude reenactment of the past six months. Two hearts fighting against the prestige of spades, both wishing to fulfill their duties, yet still dropping their authorities in pursuit of the other's hands, leaving a royal flush collapsing in their wake. Destroying the balance with a mere touch of their lips and a handful of ginger and navy locks.

A small collection of all the Chaeya oneshots/WIPs I have hidden away in my notes. Some of them are mere ficlets, and others are entire pieces that are just a tad bit too short to post on their own. Hopefully some of these garner enough attention to motivate me to turn them into fics, but for right now I just want a place where I can put my works out there for people other than myself to enjoy.
Also for the Zhongluc fans: those chapters are "The One Where It's Zhongluc Instead" and "The Dragon & The Phoenix." :D

honestly, this has to be one of my fav ff ever. i am just in awe after binge reading it.
i have sm to say rn, but i feel a short list could sort of sum up everything:
- the character developement. the. freaking. character developement. (Chyuua was especially touching, but lets not delve on every character in here or i'll never finish writing this)
- the slow burn is frustrating, almost excruciatingly painful with all of the misunderstadings but so well written and satisfying in the end
- the emotional intimacy over the physical intimacy is everything. this fits perfectly the characters and this is what I crave
- the literary references are delightful, so much work put into it, i'm amazed
- the metaphors, callbacks made me smile so much
- the musical references (i love music, didn't start the fic for that, but absolutely stayed for it)
- the happy ending just healed my soul (i needed it after all that angst damn)I should absolutely reread it, to annotate it and underline every passage that had me lose my wits.
