Why does he care so much?
Rev’s been nothing but harsh to Mark, and he doesn’t plan on warming up any time soon. The only reason Rev hasn’t spiked Mark’s food by now is because he’s somewhat useful. Despite all that, Mark never leaves Rev’s side. During class he’s always glued to him, Rev can swear he feels Mark’s eyes on him even when he’s not looking.

His gaze has slid. From Rev’s eyes…to his neck.
Rev slaps a hand to the spot. “No way! Off-limits!”
Mark snaps out of it with a squeak. He devolves right into an apologetic, pathetic, babbling mess: “I’m sorry I’m sorry so sorry I wouldn't — just hungry so sorry!”
Then he’s stumbling out of his coffin and out of the room, with a last call of “Going to the cafeteria! Bye Rev!”
Rev watches him go, he rolls his eyes and turns back to his essay. He's never been hungry before, but can it really make someone act like such an idiot? Or, well, in Mark’s case, a bigger idiot.

Most of them were somewhere in-between. These are the stories behind the elites and gym leaders of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova - and how they achieved greatness. Will go in chronological order of when they received their titles.

The leagues were competitive with each other. This system was created long ago to ensure "friendly competition" so that another world region war wouldn't break out between each other like the last time. The Indigo League starts as the best. Unova's education system is nothing to joke about. Hoenn couldn't give less of a damn. Sinnoh's considered a laughingstock with nothing to lose. But as the years go by and things start to change, their competition becomes not-so-friendly. Generational trauma doesn't simply go away. It stays buried deep down, but stirs slowly, and before you know it, the five regions are like barrels of gunpowder, ready to burst.

A tragic, borderline abusive romance that ends with him laying on the bathroom floor, makeup ruined, covered in his own vomit, missing teeth. Is that really too much to ask for?
