Summary
Hongjoong has a place he likes to go to be alone, somewhere no one else can hear when he speaks his thoughts aloud. At least he thinks that no one can hear him. Unbeknownst to him, Seonghwa has been listening to him, and though they've never met, Seonghwa feels like he knows Hongjoong better than any other human in the world. Though that might be because Hongjoong is the only human Seonghwa has ever seen.

Summary
Hongjoong's band Loose Cannons had just made it to the final round of a Battle of the Bands competition that could be everything they've ever wanted to kick off their career. There's only one problem: Hongjoong's rival Seonghwa and his band Supernova have also made it this far. And when the competition throws a surprise wrench at them, which becomes the first of many, they're forced to spend inordinate amounts of time together. Summary
I can’t just stand behind this guy like a creep all day simply because he’s attractive. Get it together, Hongjoong.
“I, uh. I should probably go say ‘hi’ to Yunho,” he utters out, voice coming out somewhat scratchy and gravely with sleep. Seonghwa pauses in his movements, turning to look up at Hongjoong in clear confusion.
”Yunho isn’t here.”
Hongjoong frowns, still feeling disoriented. “What?”
”He flew out earlier this morning, a bit after you arrived I guess. He’s on his way to Paris already.”
Hongjoong silently balks. Wait. What?
Or: Hongjoong was meant to spend his layover in L.A. with his childhood friend, Yunho. But when Yunho jumps ship in favor of pursuing his own plans, Hongjoong is left behind for a full twenty-four hours with a complete stranger—Seonghwa.
But maybe the unexpected change of plans flip Hongjoong’s world around in more ways than one.

It all happens in the blink of an eye, in a whirlwind of a moment that seems to last an eternity.
One second, Changbin is on the other side of the room, and the next he's standing directly in front of Hyunjin, invading his personal space like he always does, crowding up against him, way too close for comfort like he always does, his smile still there and his eyes sparkling with undeniable joy, and Hyunjin's heart flutters in his chest like an ensnared butterfly, the air trapped in his lungs threatening to burn a hole in his ribcage, because Changbin is just so, so beautiful and just so, so close and–
‘–pretty. Fuck, he's so pretty, and so cute, and he looks so good today. I swear to God if he keeps staring at me with those eyes I'm gonna go crazy.’
The instant Changbin's hand makes contact with Hyunjin's arm, the thought echoes inside his head, loud and clear.
Loud and clear and unmistakably, irrevocably uttered in Changbin's voice.
Or, on his 21st birthday, Hyunjin receives so much more than a simple power. Changbin might or might not be involved.

“Someone requested it,” Hongjoong says nonchalantly, pressing his lips together to make sure the gloss is evenly distributed.
“I know.”
His eyes slide over to Seonghwa's in the mirror.
“I mean, I assumed,” Seonghwa explains, waving his hand dismissively. “It looks good on you. I just… thought it must be for something special, is all.”Hongjoong is down bad for his "straight" roommate.

They chat lightly for a little while more before Maddox gets around to his real reason for calling; he wants to see if Joong is still doing okay, and to be updated on what he terms the ‘Seonghwa Situation’. “I’ll be honest, dude, when you didn’t call me begging me to break you out of there by day three, I started thinking maybe you’d tossed yourself in the lake.” He pauses. “Or that maybe Hwa tossed you in and you just… sort of let him, like a lovelorn assclown.”
“That’s a good album name,” Hongjoong replies dryly. “You should write that down.”
“Avoidance,” Maddox notes, “and attitude. You’re down bad. You’re not fucking him again, are you?”
Hongjoong winces guiltily. “No.”
“But you’re gonna.” It’s not a question.
