Derek, who kind of wanted to clue Stiles in on the fact that given their mate-compatibility they actually could that very same day, is heartbroken and makes stupid decisions about it (i.e, testing Stiles for mate-compatibility without his knowledge, running the Latin instructions for said testing-potion through Google Translate, and then completely throwing caution and safe-sex to the wind because the test said he can't get pregnant by Stiles after all, right? Wrong.)

His mother is so proud, and Finnick doesn’t understand why, though he remembers he used to, before he’d ever stepped foot in the arena.
One day there’s a package on the doorstep. Finnick’s mother brings it to his bed, where he unwraps three loaves of half-burnt bread, stale and cold from the days-long journey in the mail. There’s a note tucked in between two of them, written in chicken scratch that Finnick can barely read: I’m sorry this happened to you. I hope you’re okay.

"CHARLIE!' A voice yells from outside and Charlie's heart drops. This is what he didn’t want. 'It's happening!' The door bangs open and Draco races over to him dressed in blue waterproof dungarees and forest green rain boots that are caked in mud. He completely misses the occupants of the room. 'Come on, you don't want to miss any more, three have already hatched." Draco kisses him excitedly and he's powerless to do anything other than kiss back.
