“Like what?” Cas counters innocently.
“I don’t know. Like you’re…studyin’ me or something.”
“I’m often studying,” Cas replies.
Dean’s eyebrows jump up for a second. “That’s ominous,” he says.
“Hm.” He glances out the window again, the corners of his mouth turning up just a bit. “I suppose I retained a bit of my edge after all.”
Dean laughs at that, which Castiel was not anticipating at all. He shifts his gaze back to him quickly, and then away again before Dean can see him looking. His eyes crinkle when he laughs. It makes Cas’ mouth feel like cotton.Bookmarked by rjdeancoder

Sam stares out the windshield again. They’re approaching a city, and she can see the lights in the distance. She’s past the danger zone, and she feels like the world around her reflects that in some way she can’t put into words- as if God is telling her that it’s okay. She did the right thing, and soon she will be past the lonely unknown and into the warm, forgiving light of acceptance. Or something. Come to think of it, the lights only look warm from far away, and she knows that the actual city will seem far less welcoming. Still. Best not to imagine the worst when it’s already going well.

He still doesn’t understand a lot, though, about the exact circumstances of Cas’ marriage or what it means about Cas’ confession to him. Worse, Dean knows it’s just a matter of time before Cas and Sam figure out exactly what he did in his determination to see Cas again. He knows it won’t go over well.
