Summary
Tommy is loud, he knows how to make his laughs take up the room. And his family wouldn't have it any other way. But he wasn't always like this, in a time before Phil adopted him he was small and quiet, trying not to take up any space.
Wilbur decides to challenge Tommy to be quiet for a day and without thinking Tommy agrees. When the day arrives all he can remember is what it was like with his parents, where words were wrong and bad and being invisible was the goal.
Thankfully Ranboo's right there next to him reminding him that he's loved and that he's allowed to be himself now.

The following story is an adaptation of the scripts of 4 streams intended for production on the Dream SMP. Due to all 4 scripts being written before Ranboo’s death it is best to take this story as being in it’s own timeline that is respective of the character of Wilbur Soot. The actors have signed off that the actions taken by the characters in this story are accurate and representative. It is up to audience interpretation which timeline is canon to the greater storyline. For all future lore based around Wilbur, this is canon.

Summary
“What are you doing for Thanksgiving?” Tubbo asks again, attempting to throw the apple core into the trash and instead missing horribly. He whistles innocently when one of the teachers whips her head around, staring at the apple core that has appeared at her feet.
“Y’know,” Tommy whispers. He throws his arms around himself. “The usual.” He continues gnawing at the inside of his cheek, and doesn’t stop when the blood coats his tongue. It’s metallic, and he scrunches up his nose when the blood runs down his throat. “Gotta help the parents with dinner and all.”
He stares at his feet and misses the look that Tubbo and Ranboo give each other.
“So they’ll be back?” Tubbo asks.
Tommy swallows. “Yeah. Yeah, Tubs, I’m sure they’ll be back this time.” The lie burns his tongue, but he churns it out anyways. Better to rest Tubbo’s conscience than bother him again.

Tommy is six when he is cursed.
That’s the term he uses for it, anyway. Cursed. Blessed. “Given a gift.” Whatever. The facts of the matter: He goes to sleep, snuggled beneath the covers of his twin bed with no greater worries than what to play at recess tomorrow … and wakes up spitting sand and pebbles.

At six, Tommy was cursed. At ten, he was kicked out onto the streets. At fifteen, he’s just trying to survive.
When he accidentally breaks a window, he doesn’t expect to have to work off the debt in a café. He certainly doesn’t expect to meet Phil, Techno, and Wilbur. Or to start liking them.
He’s broken, certainly. But they’re kind, and slowly, Tommy finds himself opening up.

“Well, it’s a complicated situation. The fact that they’re already struggling to make contact is… well, it’s a red flag. You lived with your brother, but your mother never transferred sole custody, and considering the situation that left you in, there's some question as to whether or not she may be involved in your brother’s… business.”
“Drugs,” Tommy said.

He tries to make himself less, he hides himself away, thinking that Ranboo deserves a better version of himself. But what he forgets is that Ranboo loves him for exactly who he is. That he loves Tommy not despite his loudness and crude jokes, but because of them.

The fireworks.
He pushed the thoughts out of his head. He was past that. He was. It didn’t matter anymore. It had hurt at the moment, but then it stopped. Yes, he had lost a life, but that wasn’t worth harping over.
As Tommy had unintentionally taught him, if he was stuck up on what had happened--on the war that he had been thrown into at only 14, at the fireworks that had destroyed his face, at the numerous adults that had let him down and continued to let him down--then he would be shunned. Thrown away. Hell, Tubbo had done it to Tommy with exile.
At the back of his mind, the usual fuzz formed, bright and large. It would be nice to sink into--to take a break, to sit through the inevitable conversation without taking in any of it.

Tubbo needs a break, but doesn't want to take it.

“You were the one who suggested Special Cup, you prick. You knew it had Rainbow Road. Are you going back on your decision, pussy?” he questions haughtily, and Ranboo groans when he’s knocked off the road by a computer player again immediately after being dropped back on it.
“Yeah, man,” Ranboo says bleakly, “definitely.”
OR: It's supposed to be a good night, Tommy playing Mario Kart with Ranboo, but it devolves quickly, and then he needs Wilbur's help.
