As Namjoon stood slightly removed from the scene, bemusedly watching the six-year-olds swarm around his cooler (which he had borrowed from his mom), he didn’t even notice that someone had sidled up next to him until he heard the tiny, but undoubtedly exasperated, huff.
He followed the sound, turning his head to the right. A guy was standing there, arms crossed, lips pursed. He let out another huff, louder this time, but only slightly.
Namjoon refused to acknowledge him. What the fuck was this guy’s deal? Was he really that bitter that his six-year-old just lost a soccer game for six-year-olds?
One more huff from the guy.
He was beginning to think this guy’s lips were just perpetually pursed and would simply never, ever unpurse themselves, when he, the guy, finally unpursed his lips to speak.
“I just think it’s pretty irresponsible to bring Gatorade to a soccer game for first graders,” he said, huffily, “No offense.”

The boy straightens up. He’s about half a head shorter than Katsuki, face soft and youthful and sweet. He turns to look at him properly. His dark hair shines in the dying light, basket of blooms looped over one arm and mouth quirked into a tiny half-smile. The sun hits his face and makes his eyes a bright greeny-gold, just like emeralds.
Katsuki likes emeralds.
“Pretty,” he says, reaching out and picking the stranger up around the middle. He’s surprisingly heavy, although Katsuki doesn’t mind. “I like you. Come see my nest.”
The boy hits him.
He’s stronger than he looks, turns out. Katsuki drops him and falls onto his back, pain blooming across his face. Birds sing. The sky’s a lovely shade of orange, clouds floating lazily by. The boy scarpers. He leaves his basket of flowers behind, footsteps thumping on the ground and fading away as he escapes.
The sun sets. Katsuki, lying flat on his back with a bloody nose, decides he’s just fallen in love.

god idek what to say. i saw so much of myself in touya throughout this whole fic, especially with his siblings. being an older sister is a big part of my life and every single thing he does and thinks and the way he reacts, everything is so relatable. ik this fic is mainly romance but what shone most to me were the todoroki relationships.
ofc dabihawks were perfect too. at first i thought their resistance to being called boyfriends would be something to get worked on, but when i realized its meant to be part of their relationship it just felt so wholesome and right to me. -

i have many, many things to say about this fic. so, lets go step by step;
the first time i read it, there were no epilogues, and if i remember correctly i spent some time waiting for the eighth chapter. i was 17, still in school and i immediatly fell in love with this work. i found the writing and dynamics to be enchanting, and the atmosphere, /god/, i cant even describe it.
im 19 now, and im a student of fine arts. i cannot in good conscience even try to start describing how this work made me feel now. its like two years back but even BETTER because i wholly understand it now; the smell of turmantine, the andy warhol references, the galleries, the /vibes/. god the vibes. its all so intrinsically and perfectly described. THIS is exactly how living in the art world feels. of course, i never got to experience the millionaire aspect of it all, but i can say ive lived my own version of it, and of course ive heard of people that live the exact lifestyle described during the fic (can you feel my jealousy? hahah).
of course, i wont sit here and say that i do not have a weak spot for fics with artist characters and a bit of bdsm sprinkled on top, but i say with certainity that this one sits on top of my list.
something that really satisfied me is just how /much/ i relate to kevin. the whole asexual thing, i mean. its so relatable, simply not being able to exactly explain how you feel but still /feel/ like that, like no i dont want sex but yea ofc i wanna pleasure my partner (do not ask me the difference between these two things tho or else ill kneel and die).
the atmosphere of a bunch stuff having having happened with them before but only being mentioned in passing or memories is also so so cool, because its a whole universe in their past, but its still... past. its over and now theyre finding true happiness for themselves. some authors would want to start on kevneil through the scandal or andrew going to bee, but i think the story is placed perfectly in this timeline. i also think that the whole aaron thing being so starkly removed from their art bubble really cool, brings it a bit back to reality.
lastly i just wanna mention my favorite scene, which is renees party. god id PAY to be there pls just one single party like that pls ols ALSO I LOVED THE PYNCH CAMEO OMFGGGG back in 2022 i hadnt read trc yet but after really knowing the characters it just (yet again) makes the story even more complete.anyway i guess youve gathered that his is one of my favorite works ever and that i cannot recommend it enough heh
[EDIT] OH OH OH IFORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE FACT THAT ANDREW STARTED OFF AS A MUSE FOR KEVNEIL SOOOOO TYPICAL LMFAO I COULDNT STOP GIGGLING AT THEIR OBSESSION.... it also may be relatable. it also may have reminded me of the time when i was so in love w a dude i prosed about his eye colour for hours (i still dont know if its green of blue tbh)

People think we’re what?”
“Pining,” Denki bursts out, almost too loud in the hospital gardens, and then he hunches forward and continues much more quietly, but no less heatedly: “They think we’re,” he swallows and finishes, almost lamely, “pining.”
Hitoshi says nothing. Waits.
“They have a betting pool,” Denki practically wails.
(or: the entire hospital staff has a betting pool on when Denki, resident trauma specialist, and Hitoshi, the neuropsychologist, will start dating.
The punchline is that they are married.)
