Theo could hear Parrot's heartbeat from where he laid his head against his best friend's chest, finding the gentle and constant thump grounding. Theo turns his head up into the crook of Parrot’s neck, closing his eyes.

Summary
Theo tells Parrot about a strange place called a Memory Box: a place that is everywhere and nowhere, showing itself only to those it finds worthy of its secrets. Anything and everything that has ever existed can leak into it, and Theo intends to use it to train, just as the heroes of the past had done. Parrot, beginning to go a little stir-crazy in the confines of his kingdom, agrees to come along.
But by the time Parrot realizes that seeing everything he had ever known can have a consequence, his ghosts are already standing before him.

(This takes place at the very start of Season 3, with this one in particular taking place after "100 Days as King of the Unstable SMP." This is the first fic in the Memory Box Collection, focused on all the UU protagonists and their sidekicks.)

Through half closed eyes he could make out a shock of blond and black hair, covered by a tilted hat leaned over him . Boots with spurs, and chaps over mud stained jeans, clearly meant for riding and hard work. Most surprisingly, grey, yellow and white wings spread out behind him, keeping him balanced. Calloused hands were attempting to untie his bandana, likely to check his pulse, based on the man’s ramblings.
Realization scrambled into his brain, and words spilled almost accidentally from his exhausted lips, “Are you.. a cowboy?”

Parrot is chased out of a mayoral race by the law and is forced to cooperate with some… strange personalities in the Wild West as he scrambles to prove his innocence to the law.

“So, what brings you guys here?” Parrot tilted his head slightly, his eyes wandering to the box Flame held.
Flame suddenly felt his face flush. What was he even supposed to say? That he’s here to make friends? Hell no, but anything he said would make him seem like an absolute chungie anyway. Not to mention his former trainer was right behind him, making it all the more humiliating.

“Theo..baldthebird, right?” He continued, watching Parrot’s hand twitch in anger.
“Lettuce, you should’ve kept this between the two of us,” Parrot threatened. His face was perfectly calm— too calm. Like the unnatural tranquility before a big storm. Lettuce didn’t let it get to him. The little baby bird can’t hurt him. He only has the brains, not the brawn. Nonetheless, he had to keep an eye on a certain purple blob in the corner of his eyes. Who else would it be but the destructive devil who had ruined his entire plan?
“Hah, what, you’re gonna kill me?” LettuceK asked sarcastically, “No, you can’t do anything to me, ParrotX2. Your threats are empty. You’re weak without your little birdy standing by your side at all times. Not only are you weak, but all your little friends are also dead.”

“Today we are doing the legendary challenge...” the voidling paused for dramatic effect, before elbowing Flame, who was standing next to him on his right, in the rib.
“Bro, what—” Flame stammered in annoyance, then sighed heavily. “I'm blind.”
Before the guy can finish, Spoke continues, “I'm deaf!” in a cheerful voice.
“Hmph,” emerges from Wemmbu, his mouth firmly taped shut. He looks both indifferent and amused by the situation he finds himself in.
“And I'm stuck in the Arctic.” Parrot finishes. His voice sounds tired, like someone who has fought a battle with someone incredibly stubborn and lost. Which, in a way, is what happened.

“Hey, Theo?” Parrot whispered softly, as if trying to convey it to only Theo— even if no one was around. Theo sighed, keeping his hugging position on Parrot. “What is it? Quick.” He pushed.
Silence.
“Parrot, I said—“
“We’re friends, right?”
The question floated.
Theo would be laughing at the absurdity of the question, if it just didn’t sound so genuine. The tone was fragile, almost akin to glass if anyone else but him heard it. It was communicated so quietly yet so strongly to his conscience, he was afraid that if he breathed wrong— That would hurt Parrot infinitely.
Theo smiled, not with hubris, but with tenderness.
“Always were, Parrot.”
Or parrot cant sleep, theo wakes up, rlly bad at trying to make him sleep again, and they do!!! Hugging it out i miss my friends too.

It registers that he’s lost track of where Theo went until he feels that fire creep up his wings and hears his totem pop. The fire is really weak, not much steam being left in his body after such a lack of care for the limbs. The next part is weird though. Theo isn’t attacking him anymore, he’s just paused behind him where the cart he’d just pulled off was. The weak fire fades out, it was barely there anyways, and Flame forces out a single cough at the smoke. That’s when it hits Flame. Theo is staring at his wings.
Theo is an avian. Of course Flame’s unkempt wings would pose an issue to an avian.
“Your wings,” Theo says, carefully talking a step closer. His voice has lost the playful edge it normally carried, “I- Void below man- When’s the last time you took care of them?” His voice was shaky, mainly out of disbelief. Theo doesn’t know how he didn’t notice it sooner. Their state is terrible.

Parrot slowly opened his eyes, not seeing the person next to him. He focused all his sight onto the ceiling, because looking at anything else would probably make him throw up.
“‘fies?” He mumbled.
The person next to him seemed to still for a moment, pausing whatever they were doing to look over at Parrot.
“What?” They asked.
He blinked again, his eyelids drooping so low he could barely see. “Wif’es,” He slurred, “Th’nk you. For takin’ care ‘f me.”
Or, Parrot getting sick and hallucinating Wifies taking care of him instead of Theo.
