    Summary

Hamilton is staring at him straight on, unashamed, eyes glinting. “Alexander Hamilton, at your service. I think it be a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”
Laurens hesitantly closes his hand around Hamilton’s and shakes, once, then withdraws. “John Laurens, at yours. And likewise, I should hope.”

As a small, teasing smirk starts to creep over Hamilton’s face, and a fiery amusement steals into his eyes, Laurens thinks:
    This can only end badly.

In other words, the author is a sucker for canon era Hamilton/Laurens (and isn't sorry)

    Summary

“So, that just means we have to fly to Venice, make it to Epirus, navigate the House of Hades, fight off the monster hoards that are almost certainly waiting for us, out-magic the mystery woman, and set fire to a Giant made of shadows,” Percy summarized. He glanced over at Hazel. “When did you say Hecate scheduled Gaea’s homecoming party?”

“August first,” Hazel reported. “The Feast of Spes. It’s a celebration of hope.”

“Let it not be said that she doesn’t understand irony,” Annabeth said dryly.

After a devastating loss in Rome, it seems as if there's no end to the list of challenges faced by the crew of the Argo II. Hecate sent them on a wild goose chase across the Italy while expecting Hazel to learn magic from a mustelid. Annabeth is failing to find a use for the statue she risked life and limb to retrieve. There's an extremely volatile son of Jupiter prowling around, threatening to blow the ship out of the sky, assuming one of the dozens of monsters don't get to them first. Cherry on top, Piper and Leo are currently trapped in Tartarus, and their only hope of rescue is their friends managing to make it to the bottom floor of the Necromanteion. Piece of cake.

    Summary

The night Tommy disappeared, it went like this:

Tubbo screamed the words that became his goodbye. He can’t accept that Tommy is gone, because that would be accepting that the last words they exchanged were angry and intended to hurt. So he doesn’t accept it. He’ll search for years if he has to.

Techno let Tommy leave without so much as trying to stop him. He’s replayed the memory of that night and wished he’d done anything else, until he thinks the guilt might be enough to destroy him. He thinks he might already be on his way there.

And Quackity can’t help but feel like this is all just a bitter echo. This town is cursed, and Tommy is only its latest victim.

( the small town horror au where tommy goes missing and it all goes downhill from there! )

    Summary

Christopher starts shaking more violently then. “Buck jumped back in the water for me.”

There’s a protocol for a lot of scenarios, both in the Army and as an EMT. Eddie is used to knowing what to do, and how to do it; who to help, and where. Yet now, hopelessness splits through him like a bullet. Eddie doesn’t know what else to do other than hold his kid tighter and press his lips to his temple.

“Is that– Christopher?” Hen asks over his shoulder. The tiny pocket of universe that he’s created with just him, his son, and Buck’s name battering in his chest unravels.

Still keeping Christopher in his arms, Eddie rises to his feet. “I made Buck watch him for the day to get him out of the house. He– he brought him to the pier.”

“Where is he, Eddie?” Bobby asks carefully.

There’s a protocol for a lot of scenarios, both in the Army and as an EMT, but not for this.

Evan Buckley can’t look his best friend in the eye and tell him he failed, so he doesn’t. He stumbles around a drowning wasteland looking for the brightest little boy he’s ever known, and when he can’t find him, he just… keeps on walking.
