Summary
989 AD. Saxon King Æthelræd is unsteady on his throne, faced with the increasing threat of Danish invasion into England. Villages are ravaged by both armies. In the Danelaw region of England, a young Norse healer named Helga cares for children orphaned by war; and when one begins to show signs of magical abilities, Helga – herself one of the most gifted witches in the Danelaw – realizes that if enough magical children are left with no parents to teach them, then the use of magic might die out in England forever. Helga thus resolves to collect the orphaned witches and wizards of war-torn England and take them somewhere to be educated in safety and secrecy. To accomplish this, she seeks out the aid of Goderic, a Saxon wizard in the king’s household, to bridge the cultural gap. They enlist the Welsh druidess Rhonwen, who uses her scrying glass to locate all of the magical children on the island. And together the three trek north to the Highlands, where they approach the reclusive Basque wizard Salazar with a proposition – to turn the ruined Roman fort on his land into the center of England’s magical education.

Summary
Claire Redfield moves temporarily to Raccoon City during a gap year to apartment sit for Chris while he's on a vacation in the mountains. After a fateful encounter at a gas station, she becomes acquainted with Leon S. Kennedy, who quickly becomes a good friend. While Claire gets used to her new life in Raccoon City, she uncovers some hints that all may not be as it seems. While picking up a job as a babysitter, she unofficially goes undercover to find her own answers.
Meanwhile, Leon is beginning his life as a rookie cop, but realizes soon something is very wrong with a case involving missing young women nearby. He tries his best in secret to look for more clues as to what's going on behind the curtain in Raccoon City, sharing his findings with Claire.
There will be appearances of a lot of other characters in this, and everyone but the bad guys will get happy endings BECAUSE THIS IS A HAPPY AU FIC.
Rated M for violence, language, etc etc. If you're into Resident Evil this should be fine content-wise.

Ava stumbled into the common room at an hour that was far too early for anything other than coffee and brooding.
The first thing she noticed is that the TV was gone. Well, not gone. It was off the wall, instead against the wall and covered in a lace blanket. The Xbox unplugged beside it.
She paused mid step, looking around.
The lights were off, the switches taped down. Instead the rooms lit by candles. Flickering softly in brass holders. Smelling like beeswax and… maybe cinnamon?
From atop the bar, grainy music came out of a gramophone. Like, an actual goddamn gramophone. It wasn't something she recognized, definitely not anything modern.
