“If there's anything I can do to convince you to stay, anything at all…”
He doesn’t even bother to finish his sentence; what could he possibly offer that would ever be enough to assuage Keith’s fears? Reassurance, maybe. He could list all the things he’s done right as the black paladin, assure him he’s a better leader than he thinks, start backing him up in his decisions and be the red paladin he deserves.
It won’t be enough. Nothing Lance could give him will ever be enough.
“Actually, there is something.”
Lance’s gaze snaps up to meet Keith’s. There’s something different in his expression now—less hopeless, more… contemplative—and Lance’s heart swells so quickly with hope, it’s painful.
Without breaking his gaze, Keith calls up his bayard and extends it toward Lance. “You be the black paladin.”

Three years after the disaster at Jurassic World, Claire Dearing and Owen Grady are contracted for a mission to save as many dinosaurs as possible from the impending eruption on Isla Nublar. But when they arrive, they experience an unexpected complication; six teenagers who were left stranded on the island when the park closed.
Surviving has left the campers scarred in more ways than one, and they’re pretty sure that their would-be rescuers have less than good intentions. But with a volcanic eruption at their heels, they’ll do whatever it takes to get a ride home- and save the dinosaurs while they’re at it, because that’s kind of their thing.

Summary
After escaping Wu’s team, the campers find the boat right where they left it.
It’s just on fire.
Pitch-black smoke curls up into the sky, smelling of metal and gasoline. Orange flames flicker through the shattered windows of the main cabin and the bow is dipping into the water. For a few long seconds, all they can do is stare. The realization sinks into them one by one as their wide eyes trace the telltale holes in the side of the boat.
Wu’s mercenaries had guns.

The campers’ boat is sabotaged by Wu’s mercenaries, leaving them stranded on Isla Nublar indefinitely. Through good times and bad, only one thing is for certain; none of them will ever be the same.

And. Oh. Oh fuck no. It’s one thing for Lance to have lied about his non-existent romantic relationship with Keith, which was a mess he was going to have to clean up somehow, but quite another to fake said relationship in front of Hunk and Allura, both incredibly perceptive. Lance had only lied because he didn’t think he’d actually have to pretend to be dating Keith, because he’d figured he’d make up some bullshit excuse later, like they broke up or something, and no one would be the wiser. But this? This complicates things.
Or,
Lance just wants to be a good friend, but that apparently includes having to pretend to date Keith, and let's just say, things kinda spiral from there.
