Bruce came to a halt, and Oliver turned to face him, expecting him to be withdrawn, muttering an apology and splitting for his dorm. But his tired eyes had a spark in them, for once, and he purposely stood up straighter, brow a line of determination. “That,” he said.
“That?” Ollie repeated, head tilting in confusion.
“Yes. I want to do that. What you did. Get wasted.”

Gakushuu calls it a lapse of judgement. Karma thinks he might have overestimated their competitive streaks.
With a pen stroke and the very ecstatic grin of the real estate agent, Karma and Gakushuu suddenly find themselves sharing a penthouse. . . All for the sake of - of - huh. What exactly are they competing for again?

For a moment, Gakushu considers putting down his phone. Going back to sleep. It is a Thursday, and he has no obligation to help Akabane commit a crime, on international grounds, no less. As the CEO of a prominent and rapidly growing company, he has a reputation to consider.

“One year ago. That’s when it all started going downhill, for you, didn’t it? I’m sending you back one year. And maybe you can save more lives than just yours.”
Then another voice speaks up, echoing Gakushu’s thoughts, “Ikeda, I’m perfectly fine being dead. I’ve told you there’s no need—“
Gakushu turns to see a yellow octopus. The Yellow Octopus. He sinks to his knees.
He thought his life was a mess, who knew death was worse?
—Gakushu gets a chance to redo the last year of his life. With one simple decision, it leads him on a completely different path. And just maybe, that’s not entirely a bad thing.
