Summary
Trinity ran a handful of toilet paper underneath the sink and used the wet glob to wipe away her blood. She pulled out a bottle of hydrogen peroxide from beneath the sink and poured a small amount directly on the cuts and hissed at the sting of it. She wrapped gauze around her leg, and pulled her pants back on, and splashed her face with cold water.
Maybe if someone had only cared, even a little bit, they both could have been saved before it was too late.
Trinity snuck outside in the dead of night and shoved the rope beneath some trash bags in their apartment building’s dumpster.
She laid awake in bed, her head and her thigh throbbing angrily.
And she decided to become a doctor that very night.

“Well, once upon a time there was this little brown bunny, with white spots, who was small but mighty! She packed a pretty powerful kick! If you stole one of her carrots she’d knock you out in a second, wham bam boom! And she was from the streets too- the rough and tumble rabbit streets, where fluffy little bunnies were slinging guns and taking names!” Isha giggles at the imagery, shuffling closer. Jinx thinks, well, they had already cuddled before, and they had just bathed together, so why not? and so the superhuman terrorist brings her arm around the brave hearted little girl and moves closer, resting her chin on top of the child's head. Isha sighs happily, burrowing her face into Jinx’s neck, acting like she was exactly where she was always meant to be. Jinx continues the story, and Isha is lulled by the vibrations coming from Jinx’s throat as she speaks, and Jinx is soothed by Isha’s steady heartbeat against her chest.

Gasping, Mike looked to Will across the battlefield.

Summary
There’s a deafening pounding in Rumi’s skull and a ringing in her ears when she attempts to draw a breath and is left dissatisfied. Her knees are wobbling when her left hand reaches for the source of all her issues - the blooming red patch in her grey hoodie. Rumi barely grazes the torn fabric and her hand comes away drenched in crimson.
Someone is calling her name, but it’s muffled and indiscernible.
Rumi’s chest trembles when she tries to wrangle some air into her lungs, but she can’t tell if she’s successful or not.
She barely feels the jolt of pain when her knees and hands hit the pavement. Her vision is blurring, refusing to focus on the figure running toward her.
Rumi’s entire world shifts. White-hot pain blooms near her left eye. It’s only then that she realizes she’s completely crumpled on the ground and her face has taken all the impact on the rough concrete.
There’s a guttural, excruciating scream that cuts through some of the ringing in her head, followed by frantic, soft hands rolling her onto her uninjured side.

A sudden white flash, way too close.
Then the sound.
A sharp bang, metal bending. Glass exploding into a thousand shards.
And then silence.

Mira continued to stare at her shoes, but when her father didn’t speak for a long enough time, she chanced a small glance up at him. He wasn’t looking at her, he was looking at the dining table, warbled reflections of them both bouncing off the glossy dark-stained wood and reflecting back at them. His eyes were wide and wild looking, his nostrils flared. He was literally vibrating with anger, his hands both in fists at his sides. When he spoke next his voice was far from shouting, instead low and deadly, like a predator’s growl as it wound up to pounce.
“Meongcheonghan nyeon.”
