It's not like he can just leave things at that. He gives a final twist of the washcloth inside the mug, looking up at the woman.
"What'd you say this kid's name was?"

Akira’s been sick for days now, unable to so much as get out of bed and Sojiro’s starting to worry, especially when it comes time for Akira to take his medication- when the kid hasn't been able to hold down anything solid since he fell ill.

“I can’t imagine my life without the kid anymore. Maybe there’s a selfish part of me that hopes Ren didn’t want to go back anyway.” Sojiro smiles wryly.
“You want to adopt him?” Akechi asks brightly, he can almost imagine a wagging tag on him.
“Of course I do. He’s family. Don’t you think that springing both at once on him would be a lot though?” Akechi nods, contemplating something.
“You’re right. There’s even a good chance he won’t accept because he feels you’re doing it out of pity.” Right, he hadn’t thought of that. Damn kid and his damn pride.
“You know, he’s going on that trip next week. Hawaii. He’ll be gone a while…” Akechi says, either trying to find his words or hoping Sojiro will fill in the blanks.
“And Ren has a lot, of dare I say, unique, friends
all over Tokyo. If we ask some of them, there’s a chance they’d be willing to help with a little attic renovation. It doesn’t have to be much, but something to show that you’re serious about taking him in.” Akecki says carefully.OR:

Summary
The lower levels in Mementos seem to cause more issues for the Phantom Thieves with every floor they tackle. The Shadows are stronger, the requests take longer, and each battle gets harder to shake. An ambush from the Reaper adds another complication to the mix: strengthened status ailments. Unfortunately, mental ailments often take longer to pick up on, especially when none of the Phantom Thieves have dealt with them lasting outside of the Metaverse. The worst part is that their leader can't remember if he's mentioned that something's wrong.
Or: Akira is hit with a stronger, longer-lasting version of the Forget ailment. After a curative, he recovers, the Phantom Thieves leave Mementos, and everything seems fine. Things fall apart soon after that.

Summary
Moving to Tokyo to serve his year of probation had been a difficult adjustment for Ren. Not as difficult, as it turned out, as leaving it behind would be once probation was over. Luckily for him, he doesn't have to face returning to his home town alone. Morgana's by his side through it all as the adjustment period gets rockier than either of them expect.
