Summary
After Derek merged with the King in Yellow, he thought it was over. It wasn’t.
He woke back up in his world with Avery, his memory wiped and his and Avery’s bodies stuck in their (incredibly animated) avatars. They were trapped in that stupid game, though it wasn’t a blocky Minecraft world anymore, it was a beautiful landscape full of color and life.
They’re going to have to redefine their definitions of “normal”, that’s for sure. But maybe this extra time together will help them understand each other a little better.

“Um, how are you feeling? I tried to treat you as best I could, but I’m not a doctor, obviously. Ha, ha,” there’s an awkward pause. Avery hates awkward pauses. “Oh uh- my name is-”
“Avery,” the knight interrupts.
Avery blinks at him. “You, uh, you know my name? Sorry, do we know each other?” Avery hadn’t recognized him.
The knight shifts. “...Do we- I don’t…” He takes a moment to continue, “...I know you.”
That’s not ominous at all. Avery feels a little caught off guard, here. “Right… I don’t recognize your armor. What’s your name?”
The knight takes a beat to respond. “I don’t… I can’t remember what it is.”
Avery raises an eyebrow - well, the slime above his left eye. “You remember my name, but not your own?”
“...Yes.”

After the information overloads his brain, D3rlord3 can’t remember anything. Except for Avery.
Avery just wanted to get away from the city server for a bit. He finds a guy passed out in a mine he didn’t make.
