“We’ve talked about this, Ellie,” her social worker responded calmly. “For the judge to agree to probation instead of jail time, you need to complete 12-weeks of court-mandated grief therapy, and since you refused to do individual sessions, we had to find a group that would take you. Compassionate Friends is the only one with an opening.”
“But it’s for people with dead kids,” she said flatly. Bereaved parents, was the politically correct term that the website had used.

Techno, finally, shatters it. He's confused, still, and he questions, "Playing?"
"Playing what?" Phil asks.
Tommy blinks again, still incredulous. "Playing volleyball. Like I have been for the past month. I told you guys all about it; yesterday, at dinner, I- I invited you all."
Oh. Techno's eyes widen. He'd-- in all honesty, he'd kind of assumed Tommy was inviting them to watch the game with him. So Techno had paid him no mind, and focused on dinner. He hadn't realized Phil and Wilbur had done the same. In his excuse, the message got kind of lost in translation; it's not really his fault.
Wilbur, jaw dropped, ineloquent, repeats. "You play volleyball? Where?"
"For our school, idiot. That's where I go every study hall and gym period; to practice."
"You can't play for the school team. It's varsity, and you're a middle-schooler," Wilbur points out.
If Tommy wasn't angry before, he's angry now. "I'm a freshman!"

Tommy’s skin was so cold.
“Wil?” He asked his son with lukewarm anger. “I said you need to keep your brother warm and comfortable.”
“I…I did! I tucked him into bed this afternoon as you said.” Wilbur put down his fork and said nervously.
“You didn't do a good job.” Phil gave him a cold glimpse. “Are you trying to make Tommy upset?”
“Sorry…” The teenager tucked on his sweater and bowed his head. “I promise I tried…”
“Stop making excuses!” Phil slammed on the dining table, making all the tableware wobble. “Didn't you promise never to neglect him again? Didn't you promise to treat him well?”
Before Wilbur could open his mouth and say something in return, Tommy fell forward into his dinner.
“Tommy!” Wilbur yelled, helping his baby brother readjust to his seat. “Are you alright?”
Tommy didn't respond and just let his brother clean the cheese and bacon off his face.
_____One-shot horror where they had a perfectly fine family dinner with their perfectly fine baby brother.

He kept pulling the webbing while crying out to Friday, but of course the kid had turned off the glasses before handing them back to him, and his suit wasn't functioning either.

With one of my hands in the other, I wrung them together until I could work up the nerve to start padding my way across the floor. The thumping in my chest grew with every step and I could only hope he couldn’t hear it. Though I had seen plenty of fearful men who had hearts beating out of their chests, and not once had I heard it till I placed my ear to their torso and heard the thumping of scared, dying soldiers.
But bile still crawled up my throat, telling me to turn back, to let it go, and to fly so far away from all the carnage that it could be as if it never existed. That would require more energy than I had yet to gather, so I resolved on the first option, my only option.
To kill the emperor of the Antarctic Empire.Basically, Tommy is an avian who was tasked with flying into the emperor's palace and killing him to prove himself to the rebellion :)

Techno reached out with his gloved hand, throwing it to the ground and gripping his knife. The body fell onto the grass, leaving a small exclamation from the zombie as it was pinned.
“Wait!” a voice cried out. “Wait, wait, wait please!”
Techno stalled, watching the zombie move its mouth and form words.
He immediately did a scan and saw the green tint to the body’s skin and the dulled glossed-over eyes on his face. Techno felt no warmth underneath his leather glove and moved his eyes over to the zombie’s shoulder where the skin had been ripped open and was rotting.
“Hey- look, mister, I didn’t mean any harm- I’m trying to- to just-”
“How are you talking?” Techno asked what looked to him to be the reanimated body of a twelve-year-old boy. He had blonde hair, dirty with blood and soot, and the rest of his body was covered with the same stuff.
“Because I can fucking talk?” The boy questioned and then immediately doubled back. “Wait, I didn’t mean it like that! Mister, I’m sorry-”
“You’re dead,” Techno stated. “You are dead, right?”or
Uh, yeah, Tommy's dead. He's a zombie in a zombie apocalypse. But- but he can talk, I guess?

The blonde one merely smiled even wider. “Nonsense little one.” He extended his arms, delicately cupping Wilbur’s face. “I found exactly what I’m looking for.” The man cooed, making Wilbur shudder. “Where is your little brother Wilbur?” His voice was dripping with honey. It felt like a trap.
“He’s not here.” Wilbur lied. “He’s at a friend's house.”
