Best Stranger Things fic I've ever read and one of the best fics I've read. The characterization is EXQUISITE. It really captures the effects of abuse, internal and external homophobia, and surviving a small town and high school in 1980s America. The friendships, familial connections, teenage shenanigans, and impending social disasters are all there.

Dean has a plan, and like most of those, this one goes horribly wrong. As in—becoming a creature of the Lore and butchering his soul in the same night—wrong. He only hopes that whatever free-will he may or may not have isn't just another chip on someone's checkerboard of doom.

Summary
Michael is caged inside Dean's mind for now. But there's grace leaking from the cracks, banging on the doors, and Dean knows what happens at the end of this story. With borrowed (and confusing) Archangel abilities, a group of mistrustful Apocalypse Universe Hunters, and too many Michael Monsters to deal with, Team Free Will 2.0 needs to clean up the mess that Michael's left behind and stop another apocalypse. Not all the danger is locked inside a bar's walk-in freezer, though - and the Winchesters need to watch out for old and new enemies around every corner.
And at the end of it all, Dean needs to decide how far he'll go to get rid of Michael once and for all.

Neat, basic earth-colored tunics and trousers that don’t feel awful on. Calling one of them by their formal title. Coming up to them and crying, projecting a messiness so potent in the Force he knows they can both read every bit of it. Even if they don’t understand.
“Oh,” Obi-Wan says, voice as clear as a bell. He smiles again, smaller this time, and Anakin wants to reach out and hold him, wants to reach out and wrap both hands around his godsdamned throat. “It’s you.”

So Obi Wan brought him along when he went to meditate, but Anakin struggled to focus and calm in the quiet of a training room, or even in the Room of a Thousand Fountains. It took some trial and error to find the place that would give Anakin a headstart on his turmoil. Eventually, Obi Wan brought him to the mechanic bay, to one of the smaller offices, where the silence wasn’t so loud. Not where he himself would have preferred to go, but he doesn’t need the quiet to find peace, not anymore.
Qui Gon is a good master to them both, but sometimes he just seems to push Anakin further into the turmoil that seems to build in him. With only six years between himself and Anakin, Obi Wan understands that sometimes you don’t need a teacher, you need a friend.OR; All of these words because I wanted Obi Wan to touch Anakin's neck. But that's spoilers.

Anakin, in a fit of bravery uncharacteristic even for the Hero With No Fear, decides that he should tell the Council about his secret marriage, so that no Sith could ever use it against him to hurt the Jedi Order or the Republic.
It goes swimmingly--if you ignore the fact that Anakin definitely meant to say that he married Padmé in the wake of Geonosis, and yet the entire Jedi Council seems to think he married Obi-Wan.
And also if you ignore the fact that now no one believes them when they tell them flat out that Anakin is married to and in love with Padmé, not his old master.
And also if you also ignore the fact that Anakin doesn't know how to ignore the fact that being in love with Obi-Wan sort of makes a lot of sense. In fact, it feels like the only thing that's made sense in the last four years, come to think of it.

For weeks before the heart-wrenching message from Duchess Satine, Obi-Wan had not been sleeping well. He would close his eyes and feelings of despair and loss would overcome him.
Obi-Wan had a bad feeling about the ominous summoning from Masters Yoda and Windu. Seeing Satine call out for him through the holo-message felt like a confirmation of all his fears and dark premonitions the previous weeks.
The Force was warning him, and he had to stop whatever was happening. He knew he would get no assistance, but he had to come to her aid anyways. He would fight for her, against such very slim odds.
It is said that people do crazy things for love, and he now understands that more than ever.
