Summary
MK fell through a tear in reality during his confrontation and fight with Azure Lion. He drifted there, sleeping, waking, only half remembering what had lead up to him being there.
He did remember clearly that he wanted to go home. But for MK, Home meant two different things. It could either be a place you lived in, or a person you felt safe with.
The Void answered that wish, just not in the way MK had wanted.
It brought him back. And it brought him home.
But it wasn't home as he knew it.

Summary
MK gets stuck halfway through a tear in the Void, causing Wukong and Macaque to go help him while Azure tries to both close all of the cracks in reality and simultaneously keep that specific one open until MK is freed.
The distorted -thing shadow creature- person -frowned bared their teeth- grinned at them and when they spoke their voice shifted between genders and ages with every other word, “You will not free him. You will not free yourselves. It will be okay. The lion who thought he could be Atlas cannot bear the weight of this world. It will collapse. You will be okay.”
“That's getting really annoying. Give us a straight answer.” Monkey King bared his fangs.
The being opened -its- their mouth —there was no face, no eyes, no mouth, something still opened, something was still looking at them— and said, “This world will fail. It's beyond repair. It will fail and you will be alive beyond it. You will awaken in the beyond as you should have been in this world.”

Summary
Harbinger of Hope is two aus that sprung from the same prompt, 'MK gets caught up in / passes through a tear in reality during the season 4 finale fight with Azure and the changes/consequences that result from it'.
Harbinger (Harbinger of— That's A Baby) is currently being rewritten with the old version being left up as an archive for anyone who would still like to read through it. It's set in the Past of Mythical China and will have references to some Sun Wukong media outside of LMK (Journey to the West and Mei Hou Wang 2009 being two of them), As well as a bunch of headcanons thrown in because I couldn't resist.
Hope is currently being written and researched for, and will be set primarily in MK's time though some chapters or scenes may be set in the past to give context or to push the story forward. There will be my own worldbuilding and headcanons thrown into the blender so please be aware of that.
I'll likely be pulling on the same or similar references for Harbinger and Hope both. I'd like to also pull from other things as well like Chinese Mythology in general if I feel I can pull it off well.

What makes a hero?
MK thought he knew.
A hero, to him, was someone who protected everyone. They put the world before themselves. They're the most selfless, kindhearted people you'll ever meet, saving innocent lives and sparing those that cross them.
But when a new threat rises, MK learns a harsh truth. Not every hero wins the day, and not everyone could be saved. Even the strongest falter, and the brightest lights often cast the darkest shadows.
And yet, not everything is lost. From honing strange new senses to wrangling newborn cubs, MK had grown into his life as a monkey demon, meeting others of his kind and learning their culture. He’s discovered something worth fighting for. These were his people, and this was his home.
But with that discovery comes a harsher lesson. To protect what’s most precious, you must sacrifice your morals. Sometimes, you can’t even protect yourself.
So when clouds gathered over Flower Fruit Mountain, and snow fell far too early, MK knew his world was about to change again.
