The door shuts behind Flint, and the knot of another sob burns in Silver’s throat. Only… it isn’t a sob - or not just that anyway. There is something in his throat, something crawling up from his lungs. His throat spasms around it, and he coughs violently, dislodging the thing from his chest. It’s waxy and bitter in his mouth, almost like pepper. He spits it out on the desk. It’s slender and pink, about the length of his forefinger.

Summary
When Stede finds out Ed has never sat for a portrait, he requests that Lucius see to the matter.
The only problem? Lucius has spent the past several weeks claiming he can only draw nude figures, so he doesn't have to sketch Stede at every given opportunity. It's a lie, but a useful one, especially when so many handsome pirates are now willing to pose naked for him.
Including, apparently, Blackbeard.
Or: Ed poses for a portrait in the nude, and Lucius has to watch Stede go through a life-altering internal crisis, witness a frankly upsetting level of sexual tension, and deal with the most fidgety portrait subject ever. At least he gets to ogle Blackbeard while he's at it. For the sake of art. Obviously.

Based on some meta that discussed Stede's body image issues caused by cruelty from his peers. Ed and Stede are the same size, but it struck me that Stede's softness was often used against him. His body was demeaned as a way to further denigrate his masculinity, which would have affected his self perception

Blackbeard stares at him with vacant eyes. Jesus. Lucius is viscerally reminded of the man's dead-eyed look before he pushed him overboard.
"Does it feel like the right choice for you? Are we happy with it?"
"Do you have a fever?" Blackbeard asks, voice hoarse.
Lucius cocks his head and says, "Don't think so. Do I look hot?" He winks.
Blackbeard lifts his hand and presses his fingers roughly against Lucius' forehead.
"What are you—"
"No fever," Blackbeard grunts and draws back. "Good. Didn't want to cut off your fucking hand."
Lucius drawls, "I'm touched."

The dangerous glint returns to Flint’s eyes, and in an instant he has regained the upper hand. “Hm. And what exactly is it that you have imagined?” There’s a slight edge to the last word, and Flint’s voice is a low, rumbling growl.
Silver is caught, and he knows it. Knows that he put himself here. If he’s honest he knew that he would find a way to put himself here as soon as he had registered what Flint told him. He’s not wrong. He thinks back over their association and knows he’s not wrong. It makes sense now.
___________________________________Know how there's that part in 3.10 where they talk honestly about their feelings and then kiss? You know? That part, where it fixes canon? This is that.

Greg frowns slightly, trying to gather some sparse appreciation of the reference. “…Wouldn’t you be Gatsby?”
Tom narrows his eyes, mouth pinching pale with distaste at the contention.
“I’ve never like, seen it,” Greg admits, hastily, exhaling a weak laugh and recognizing easily that he just stepped on some kind of a landmine. “But he’s the rich one, right?”
