Caitlyn turned away, walking toward the door, her back to Jinx. But before she could leave, Jinx finally found her voice. “I… I didn’t know,” she said, her words tumbling out in a rush. “It probably wouldn’t have made a difference, but… I didn’t know your mother was there.”
Caitlyn paused, her hand resting on the doorknob. She turned sharply, locking eyes with Jinx, but no words came.

Caitlyn sighed, biting her lip. “Do you remember our first kiss?” she asked, as if it were even a question. Of course Vi remembered. “When you pleaded with me not to change?”
“I don’t want to talk about this. Let’s just go back to bed—”
“We can’t keep avoiding this forever!”
“But we’re together now, Cait! What’s done is done. Let’s just– just move past this.” Vi could feel the beginnings of tears pricking at her eyes, that all-too-familiar lump in her throat. “Why can’t I just move past this?”
Caitlyn’s palm came up to brush against her cheek, and against all better judgment Vi leaned into her touch—that same touch which had guided her out of the darkness so many times, and which now kept her teetering on the precipice between heaven and hell.
The apology scene we deserved.

The weak crackle, the hurt in her voice stings at Vi’s throat. She rolls her right shoulder, as if bracing for something. She doesn’t know what it is until she says it out loud.

“I think if you really believed that you wouldn’t be here right now,” Caitlyn points out. “You would have killed me and been long gone.”

"Good." Amity risked a lot by squeezing her fingers, and was pleased to have the gesture returned. "Are you... okay?"
The human's face crumbles. Luz sucked her bottom lip into her mouth and bit down hard to avoid tearing up, but that only really works when you're with someone who doesn't recognize that song and dance, and Amity has done a lot of that in her life. "She- it called me cariño. I didn't realize how much I missed that."

Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.
