Rin stands there for a moment, he’s silent, and it’s not because he means to be. His eyes meet the white plastic bag Shidou holds, and he notices the lack of any sweater or jacket on Shidou’s figure. It was spring, it should be fine not to wear a sweater, but the voice in Rin’s head nags 'don’t make him stay outside, he’s cold.'
Rin despises Shidou, and he can't put his finger on the reason why.

Summary
He knew Shidou didn’t belong to him, not in any meaning of the phrase. He and Shidou were simply rivals who ate off of each other's egos to get to the top— a push and pull relationship full of both arrogance and violence.
Rin's always struggled with admitting things; from admitting he wanted to beat Sae out of longing and not anger, to admitting his raging crush on Shidou for over a decade. Rin's never been keen on being weak and vulnerable— fuck that to the very core.
Yet he can't deny the churning pits of jealousy that stir in his gut whenever he sees Shidou with anyone but him, but that's an admittance he'll keep to himself.

Rin didn't need to be asked twice and joined Ryusei on the bed, sitting cross-legged next to him to enjoy his inexhaustible source of warmth. He curled his fingers in the sleeves of his hoodie and placed his clenched hands near Ryusei’s body, hesitant to make physical contact for the first time.

This whole situation is a strange fever dream run amok, so Rin might as well indulge in it. Though he isn’t particularly sure what he feels for Shidou, their current closeness is almost... cathartic? Deciding not to overthink things, he leans back in and goes for the lips. He keeps it chaste, his mouth closed. Swapping spit sounds absolutely disgusting, and Rin's not keen on the idea of having to brush his teeth a second time tonight. Shidou doesn’t seem to mind; he goes still, unexpectedly pliant, and lets Rin do as he pleases.
Itoshi Rin is a masterclass at wanting what he can't have.

Being held hostage by the mortal enemy of Rin’s agency wasn’t an ideal situation. With Rin’s arms tied to the back of his chair, legs put together to the front, he was completely immobilized. The basement was dead silent, save for the occasional curses spat out from Rin in an effort of getting himself out of this mess.
“Shit..” Rin muttered to himself, straining his arm muscles as he fumbled with tightly secured ropes. Rin had called for backup, but he should have known better for his dumbass of a partner to not show up in dire situations. Just as Rin thought of retorting to another solution, the clacking of boots against the concrete floor broke the silence of the room.
