Summary
300 years was a long time to be alone, but Dennis knew it was for the greater good, after all, he was a vampire and would outlast any lovers or acquaintances he could ever meet, so loneliness was his solution.
That didn't mean that he isolated himself completely.
He'd craft identities from thin air and live a relatively normal life for a few years before hiding again; always a new name, new friends, new job. He supposed he wouldn't consider them lives, tragedies fit the description better.
An ER doctor was truly his bravest adventure yet; surrounded by so much blood when he could barely feed due to his long shifts pushed him to the edge frequently. But what was possibly more dangerous was two of his attendings.
Everyone else often smelt of cheap shampoo or body wash, but them? They smelt as if they were soaked in blood constantly.
Perhaps, this would become more interesting with time.
TLDR; vamp dennis, serial killers jack and robby - mess ensues

Dennis stills at that, giving him that same, blank look from before. Robby wants to shut his eyes. He never wants to see it again.
He tilts his head. “Accident?”
“You were—” Robby says, and doesn’t miss the desperation in his own voice. “I just told you. You were in an accident. Don’t you remember?”After an argument about Robby’s resignation from the Pitt, Dennis gets into a car crash that makes him unable to retain short-term memories. Including the fight they just had, and Robby’s imminent departure. It’s up to Robby to nurse him back to health, and choose which truth to tell him.
Or, Dennis gets anterograde amnesia.

After Robby's stressful shift in the Pitt, he finally goes on his sabbatical drive. It isn't long until he's rammed by a semi-truck and dies.
Or so he thought.
He wakes up from a coma in another world. Be it hell or limbo he's no longer Attending Physician Dr. Robinavitch living in Pittsburgh. Instead, he's a middle school English teacher living in Broken Bow with a very cranky wife and an adorable daughter.
Dennis is a pregnant rural housewife having to nurse his idiot semi-amnesiac Alpha back to health.

Dennis had never had the best of luck, due to the fact that he was the fourth son of the fourth daughter, who herself was the fourth daughter of the fourth son.
So, it didn't really surprise him how bad his first day at the Pitt went. Having crushed his finger under a patient was nothing. He couldn’t remember the number of times a cow had stepped on his fingers while playing on the ground as a child. Being repeatedly soiled by fluids, may they be blood, piss or worse? Animals didn't care about other people's feelings. Losing a patient? He had grown up on a farm. Death wasn’t unknown. Death was an odd uncle, always lurking around, waiting for the opportunity to snatch the cutest sheep, the gentlest horses, the weakest neighbors who couldn’t handle the field.

Dennis Whitaker is a beta...at least, that's what he's told everyone. Acting on them would put his reputation at risk, not to mention the carefully balanced life that would only take one stumble for it to all come crashing down. At least he only has one shift with the man before he leaves on a three month sabbatical. He could work twelve hours with him and then he'd be good to go.
If only things were ever so simple for him.
Or: 1 in 10 people have a secondary gender. It is scientifically proven that fated mates have higher chances of reproduction. What happens when alphas and omegas are put into a match system to bolster the secondary population, but Dennis wants nothing more than to avoid it?
