Summary
As the tags suggest, this is a fanfic about the Solas romance. Specifically, it's about Mage!Lavellan because that's who I played.
Just like my Witcher 3 fanfic, this is a collection of scenes that I imagine happened during and after Inquisition, in-between the actual scenes we got. So yeah, these are basically my headcanons.
My Inquisition fanfics are always based on my character, Iris Lavellan, a Dalish mage who can shape-shift and has an entire backstory. BUT. Since I want readers to be able to insert their own characters if they wish, I have deliberately left her appearance ambiguous. I have only mentioned that she is beautiful and has long hair. (So sorry to people with short-haired Lavellans.)
The scenes might be out of order on the timeline because I'm basically writing them as I get ideas. Some are really short and some are longer.

To begin with, Ronan Maxwell Trevelyan was enormous. His reputation had certainly achieved impressive proportions already, but the man himself appeared to have been constructed for the specific purpose of making architecture tremble. Not as wide as the living barn door known as The Iron Bull, but quite large for a human.
He was also, Dorian soon discovered, only intermittently acquainted with shirts.
Definitely a brute, then.
Or a slow-burn in which Dorian pines and yearns for Ronan while gaslighting himself into thinking those feelings aren't returned.

The answer seems obvious—why would she be doing this if everything was all right?—but she lies anyway, an impulse so immediate she gives in to it without a second thought. "Everything's fine."
Rook struggles with the loss of duty and purpose.

Of course. Of course she spends two weeks in the depths of the void itself, forced to dodge Venatori escalations while just trying to keep children from choking to death on blight, and Rook brings a mortalitasi into their home. And a known one, at that, who seems to be quite open about keeping spirits as exotic pets.
"Doctor Rosalyn Veilmurren," she returns, putting perhaps too much emphasis on Doctor. No, not a doctor in the same sense as him, but just as important, and just as earned.
He flinches just slightly at her name. Good. No matter how he recognizes it.
"Ah, Our physician, then?" He straightens a bit, seems to look her over with a touch more awareness.
And she must be quite the sight, still in her full dragonhide armor, armed to the teeth with an eclectic assortment of knives and blades, including the faintly glowing lyrium-infused spellblade at her hip. She's probably still covered in a bit of ichor from the demons they'd fought at the crossroads, which she knows a mage would notice immediately.
"That's me."

Summary
A collection of short Emmrich x Rook stories occurring during and after the events of again we light our fires.
Chapter 1 - Inconsiderate event planners have organized an important academic symposium only days before most alphas are due for their ruts. It'll be the first rut cycle Emmrich and Rook have spent together as a couple, but Emmrich is determined to at least attend the first day of the symposium before the fever drags him under.
Things don't exactly go according to plan.
Chapter 2 - Rook enjoys pushing Emmrich's buttons.
Chapter 3 - The domesticity of seeing Emmrich reading in the evening gets Rook hot under the collar. She decides that now is the perfect time to get her mouth on him.
Chapter 4 - Emmrich POV - after the birth of their first daughter, Emmrich is deliriously happy. A simple cuddle with Rook gets him a bit too aroused. Rook takes matters into her own hands.
Chapter 5 - an Emmrich POV of one of the days of Rook's first heat.

She'll hide it, make jokes about it, but there is a bone-deep fear there under her voice he's been trained to listen for. To find the vulnerabilities in a mark. He would never use this against Rook, but his training, too, is bone-deep.
Rook and Lucanis are more traumatized by their pasts before the Lighthouse than either would care to admit to. Slavery, Crow training, the Ossuary. Emmrich reaches out to both of them, and against the odds, they all manage to fall for each other and perhaps even heal each other along the way.

She said quickly in an attempt to fill the silence, “Watching me is not all that interesting.”
“Would it disappoint you to learn that I found it to be a pleasurable pastime?” Solas asked lightly.
Rook’s stomach swooped as she responded in a kind of test flirt just to see how far he would take this. “I had no idea that you found watching me . . . pleasurable.”
Solas approached her. He captured her in his gaze, his eyes bright with interest. “Perhaps I enjoy discovering what prowls in the night. I find curiosity often leads to unexpected delights.” Solas started to leave, but before he disappeared he said, “The blanket was most welcome.”
He knew! Of course, he knew.
Rook had no idea that Solas could be so . . . provocative.
