Tommy tried to bite him, but no matter how hard he bit down he couldn’t puncture Techno’s skin. Techno lifted him up and, just like he jumped off the railing, jumped out of Tommy’s window. Wilbur was following close behind and Tommy would guarantee Phil wasn’t far either.

Wilbur was gone. Again.
Tommy should've known, honestly. It was childish to assume that "I'm going out for a walk" meant, well...just that. And as much as people like to call him a child, Tommy thought he was smarter than that.
Guess not.
It's been three hours since Wilbur left. He could be anywhere in town at this point. Tommy sighed as he opened up his broken-down school provided laptop, searching up "Bars in L'Manburg." Hopefully, "I was doing a project" is a good enough excuse.
(Or: Tommy and Wilbur struggle to stay afloat and end up getting more people by their side than they could've ever imagined)

No, that was a lie. That was a massive fucking lie. It took 4 months and 19 days, as well as far too many dreams of pasts lives, as well as too many late nights doing research.
Realizing that he was once Theseus, someone he learned was loved, cared for, and had a family, that hurt. Having once had something to live for, now he had nothing, passed from family to family with little more than a small bag in hand and a vague memory of a man he could only recognize by the color of his hair.

Techno is the only agent The Syndicate has that can pull off being a university student for this mission. Despite his protests, Techno enrolls at L'Manburg University to steal information on the highly secretive and very profitable nuclear research headed by Dr. Schlatt and his two research assistants. Only one of his classmate's catches onto Techno's role far too early and a decision has to be made on the fate of one Tommy Innit who Techno is convinced is a spy for the rival organization XD.
Wilbur has always been the silver-tongued agent for the XD Organization. He's swooned missile codes and set up wars before ever finishing a glass of champagne at a party. When he's set to collect the research being done at L'Manburg University he assumes it's going to be an easy task. Only to get distracted by a certain blond and the suspiciously competent 'Dave' that seem to keep getting in his way.
OR, Tommy really needed help on his English essays and gets pulled into a world of espionage that James Bond made look way cooler.

Summary
Whatever it was that stood in the mouth of the cave wasn’t wearing armor. Not even leather armor which was significantly less stylish. He didn’t have a sword or shield or any visible weapons as far as Techno could see. He just had this…thing on his back, and the worst hat Techno had ever seen in his life. It was completely horrible. Atrocious. It almost warranted him burring the stranger alive then and there.
When the human finally did go to lay down, he whisked off his atrocious hat and, oh. His hair tumbled out, sweat dark and a little stringy, long enough to frame his face, and it was gold. Perfectly gold. It caught the fire just right, shining like his hoard at sunset as the human brushed it out of his face. Techno shifted on his feet, a coo of desire tumbling past his lips.
The stranger was gold and so, so close to his hoard.

He needed a break. That’s why he found himself on a mountain hike with only his phone and a granola bar. He was a big man, he didn’t need anything else. What could go wrong right? Nothing. Nothing could go wrong surely.
Tommy just did his best to enjoy the scenery, humming some random song to himself as he hiked up the increasingly steep mountain. The trees were beautiful right now, the leaves already turning various shades of brown and orange, and a few reds mixed in as well. The hiking trail had a fair amount of boulders along the side, and Tommy had to push the worries of landslides out of his mind. It hadn’t rained for a while, hopefully, he didn’t need to worry about that. Right?

Tommy is perfectly fine in the day, but when night comes he goes rouge, goes zombie. At first, Tommy and Wilbur are both skeptical of each other, Tommy not wanting to kill and Wilbur not entirely wanting to die.
But soon, Wilbur is determined to find out why what happens to Tommy happens, and takes the boy with him. He always follows behind at a distance.Somewhere else, Techno scours a wasteland looking for his little brother
